Hi Jassy. Thanks for the video . Most schools for psw mention criminal record and vulnerability sector check and immunization. Is that something you do before you apply to the school or after you arrive in Canada?
That depends on the college your going to but most of them require that in your second semester as you prepare for your placement. That means your required to have them once your here. However, I would highly encourage you to get them when your still in your country so that you have them at hand especially, police check. All in all confirm with your college what they want

I have some subscribers in your field who applied for PSW and got accepted. The fact that your changing career to a health care one, that will not be a problem all you need is to make a good personal statement explaining why your switching career at this time.
I don’t think it will be possible because you need to have clinical hours and those are attained from hands on experience either in a home( long term, residential, hospital) or community like schools with special needs kids

You only need your high school to enrol. My opinion is, the fact that you just completed your accounting it would be better if you enrolled in a master’s program related to your field even if it’s just for 1 yr then after enrol into PSW program to penetrate the health care system and find a job faster or you can apply for PSW right away and make a good personal explanation during your visa application showing why your switching career from account to health care

Yes it is kinda of related but there are some differences too.The difference between the two is that for the Social workers that I have seen at my facility do not give direct care to the clients thus ( grooming, toileting and feeding etc) however, they offer support such as social and family related. Now, I’m planning to take a student visa extension for next year with additional one year but planning to take PSW program. Can i take PSW even without any medical educational and work background experience? Thankyou.
You don’t need a work experience to enrol into PSW and you only need your high school to apply for PSW. The fact that your already here as an international student that means you already have your English assessment results and high school just use those to apply and in my own opinion, I support your decision to enrol in PSW because you will easily get a job than Marketing as a foreigner

Yes, you will definitely get a PGWP if that’s what you mean as long as that college is a credited with PGWP. You can apply to colleges and once you get the school admission then you can submit it to immigration so that they can advise you on the way forward

Yes, most of the colleges have financial aids to all students including international students as long as you qualify for it for example, for your financially in need or if your performance in class is great
Yes, as long as you have your high school and English assessment results. If you follow the steps that I was showing using my phone at the point when I touched the $ symbol to check the tuition that’s the same place where you can check for the requirements. If your living in Canada you just need to go to College or an adult learning school and write an English n maths assessment test then you will be admitted into the program if you hit the required pass mark or you will be advised to take up some English classes before your enrolling. If your outside Canada, then you have to apply using your credentials and the college will have to evaluate them and advise you accordingly
Thanks for watching, tuition varies depending on the college you decide to go to and the province. Sorry I can not tell you how much but most of colleges in Ontario range between $15000-17000 but outside Ontario may be cheaper than that

Yes you should be. Best way is to submit your credentials to British Colombia care aid and community worker registry and get an equivalent or advice from them since they have a registry body and they are within Canada

If your already issued with a PGWP, switching to another course may not be of any help actually it may set you back wards because you need 1 yr to study PSW but your already given 1 yr to work. What some of my subscribers do is, after their 1 yr of studying in another field, they switch and study another 1 yr in PSW making a total of 2 yrs so they can get 3 yrs PGWP which is the best period to secure PR. When your given 1 yrs PGWP, you need to start working right away since time is not on your side preferably, in your field of study. Thanks for watching

My question is, within this 3 years of pgwp, if I work 1 year as a PSW, will the experience be counted under CEC and will help to secure PR..? PSW is a certified personnel with a 1 yr training or 6-8 months training if it was an accelerated PSW program. while a caregiver is any individual with no certificate or school training that may be hired directly by a family or friend and trained directly by the client’s family at work in order to work with a patient or client
They are the same thing British Columbia is called you need a health care assistant certificate to work as care giver , health aide and PSW . They are all called health care assistant workers in British Columbia
Congratulations upon receiving you PR You can use mature entrance. Just apply to any college, but you will be given an assessment for evaluation or apply for introduction to health care to any district school board if your in Toronto It’s called ( TDSB) it’s a 2-3 months program after that you will automatically cross to PSW Thanks for watching and subscribing
Choose your favourite adult learning school, for example, Yorkdale adult learning school in Toronto and get their contacts you can email them or call them to find out when registration will be commencing and apply with them for “ Introduction to health care”
That’s a good question unless if your already a nurse in your country when you come here you can be hired as a PSW but if your not it may kinda of be hard to work as a PSW

Hie Jassy l would like to come with my son to study how long does it take to study as personal support worker and get a job and work permit or l still need to continue with studies which provinces that l can stay which is not very cold but fees are affordable for college
Coming with your family is good, especially your husband and kids so that he can take care of your son when your at school and he can work full time as your working part time during the school time. PSW program lasts for 1 yr and you can apply for PGWP and work for 1yr then apply for PR that is if you think you will have accumulated the required hours or you can enrol into a second program after your PSW and get your self a 3 yrs PGWP which will make it much more easier to get a PR. British Colombia is warm but expensive same applies to Ontario most of cheaper provinces are cold

Use your acceptance letter from the college to apply for your study Visa alongside other documents like POF( prof of funds). Once your here, you will be guided by your program coordinator

Yes, it has no age limit actually during my PSW training I had two classmates who were in there fifties. High school is the requirement needed if you already have that then your ready to go. I’m not sure how it works in your country but if you use google and insert “ IELTS classes or exams “ you will be guided where to find it. Most of the British council centre offer IELTS if you have one in your country you can visit the receptionist and get more information
It was online before but now with everything starting to open up, most colleges have it both in person and online that is to say lectures online and labs in person
This depends on the specific college that you will have decided to train with. Check on their website to be sure though most of them require academic but others require general. Consult with the college advisor by emailing them
