He works by himself mainly. He has a brother and older son who have come in at times to help on large projects. But he has decided this simpliar path for his business currently.

I remember sitting around the pool with them at a Fest in FL talking protector sales and sharing ideas for "selling" protector. Love these two so much and I'm so happy to see this success.

What a great video. Mark you know a little bit of my history. I have a very successful multi faceted company. But I'm still really small. Pretty much owner operator. I have a similar building that was quarantined that now is like the talk of the town. So I take so much from this. I watch videos and most of the time it's just run-of-the-mill stuff but this one here I really gravitated towards. For the aforementioned reasons. I will watch this probably 20 more times. And write down notes. Although I'm doing the same thing as them, positive reinforcement Is key. And we all get a little bored. And just this video has really re-energized me. And that's saying a lot because I'm high energy. I will watch this and just put it on rerun and let it play in the background. I don't have to watch it I just want to listen to the conversation as I'm working. Well done. Congratulations to this young couple. Keep up the good work And Mark. I had you for 70. You're 61. Good Lord you're still a spring chicken. Okay maybe a fall chicken.😂

That was a great interview and video Mark! I felt identified with these family business owners in the last 10 minutes of this video in the way that they don’t overbook jobs just to keep themselves busy. They rather prefer to chose one or two jobs a day that produce the profit of four jobs a day. And that only happens with high end jobs or great customers. Yes, It’s Possible! Time is so valuable, so, we as a business owners need time off for ourselves and most importantly our families need us too… Cheers to all of you guys!

Amazing video mark , specially for young cleaners like me and other people starting in this beautiful business. Here en Maryland winter time is crazy so I guess business will be down a bit . Any idea how business are in Florida because weather is opposite and summer all year around ?

Actually when we are slow in Minnesota due to the weather (being super cold) it seems like it's slower for them in the summer (due to the heat). Seems to be opposite seasons but each place has slow times. Glad you enjoyed the video and it was maybe a bit of help. Any business it seems will experience the "Feast or Famine" times. We have found, we just need to do our best to save and budget for slow times... But that honestly still can be unsettling to experience everytime it takes place. Our best to you. @@leedimatteo5078 they make a Y splitter that I had a little influence on. You can take off the live reel what to use and plug off the rest on the reel. Something I came up with Thanksgiving morning in 2008. Couldn't sleep so went to my shop and cobbled it together 😁

Wow! I'm at 21 minutes now, just heard comments about vacuuming, something I've done for many years. Mark, I haven't seen anyone using the Turbo vac that hooks up to the vacuum hose of the unit, what are your thoughts about it. I recently wore out my 3rd one, the local carpet supplier doesn't carry them anymore so I bought an upright with a see through canister that impresses the customer because they can see the stuff I pull out compared to the Turbo. Wondering if you think one is better than the other. Now to watch the rest of the video : )

Great question. I'm not sure how available those are anymore. We do prefer separate vaccums so less wear and tear on the units, and can be maybe cleaning while one person is still out ahead prepping. Glad you are enjoying the video too 😊❤️ Thanks for watching 😊

Great video!!! I heard Mrs. Melodie say she has 7 points she gives her customers to prepare for the cleaning. I would love to know those 7 points. I struggle with this especially since I am answering, scheduling, and cleaning with no help. I was using an answering service but they were losing me jobs.

If im using a 175 Floor Buffer to clean a Carpet, after I go through the Cleaning steps, how do I then rinse the Carpet without using expensive Extraction equipment

You could consider doing encap using bonnet pads such as in this video. You would want to use a product made for encapsulation cleaning. It won't leave a residue problem. Good suggestion. We have an accounting firm now that helps with our financial planning. Also have an investment firm assisting. We try to make educated money decisions with their guidance 👍😊
