Murali says he starting practising his doosra over a short length and gradually over a period of years built up to a full length. If that is how adults develop, why do we expect children who are learning spin bowling to get a ball down 22 yards?

At the time, it was all very controversial and people (me included) got very opinionated about the ICC "legalising" cheating. However, when they did that massive study, it turned out that what the ICC had been asking was actually completely rudimentary and not scientific in any way. In fact, it was probably physically impossible. The battle over Murali's action actually clarified cricket. Plenty of people had been breaking the rules on elbow flexion (knowingly or unknowingly) and getting away with it, especially those who could hyperextend the elbow. The fact that Murali talks about it with good grace is admirable and humble. B. S. "Chandra" Chandrasekhar suffered polio as a kid, which left him with a problem in his right arm, and he faced accusations of chucking, usually from those who couldn't read his leg break.

19:27 I took 7-8 years to reach my first 100 wickets. I played 25-26 test matches in that time. . You know you're standing next to one of the legends of the game when taking 100 test wickets in 25-26 matches is considered poor returns.

What a wonderful charity work is done by Murali many cricketers should be inspired by this and help needy go back to the basics spend time with small children share their knowledge and experience with them all the best murali have a gr8 future ahead..

Murali is a great humanitarian. A man who represented his country with honour and pride. To hear him speak is an honour. He represents everything that a man could be. I am in awe of his style and the way he is proud sri lankan and all that that troubled country needs a man like him. And he chucked every ball he bowled.

What a great man. I saw him interviewed on Australian TV and he is a man of dignity. A man of class and everything you would want from a cricketer. A legend of a human being. And he chucked every ball he bowled. If he was Australian he would not have made it past third grade local cricket. We crucify chuckers in Australia, and Murali was a chucker. Every ball was illegal and only reverse racism allowed him to continue. Great man...but a chucker.

The rules were changed to suit his action if they had not changed them then he would be classed as a cheat which I believe he was. Shane Warne was robbed of the title of the best bowler ever and that comes from an Englishman.
