This is the top video on this AFSC in my opinion. I have been looking for information on the possibility of becoming an LPN through this 4N0. Excellent work Ms. Ray! Thank you.
I was looking for travel nursing and this was recommended to me, we actually worked together before as trainers and I'm a nurse now as well. Glad that this video was recommended by RU-vid .
Finally taking my test July 8th. Taking the NGN. Thank you for giving this info about last 3 the 5 level books. I have all 5 books in binders. I have been doing a ton of NGN questions and review. I figure all of that and time focusing on refreshing should get me passed the threshold.
@@balconyclubLA I know something is changing regarding the test. So, I would suggest that you speak with your UTM to get the most up to date information regarding the test. Because they're changing it this year if they haven't done so already
Hey! Thanks so much for this video info on this is literally nonexistent lol & so would you recommend getting your associates through the ccaf? Also, how long did it take you to move up to 5 starting from tech school graduation?
I'm currently an lvn/lpn for kaiser in ca. Been an lvn for 8 years in many different departments. I might consider going in to air force. Im curious what the process was. I dont see many lvns posting on this in the air force
If you want to join prior to getting your BSN, you can do that. There is a program that helps 4N0s become nurses but I believe that's after your first contract. The college is located in Tampa, FL. There are others... Like FSU in Tallahassee, FL. I'm in the Air National Guard. They pay for school as well. And you can still commission after getting your BSN. You can even go AD after your BSN if you still want to. There are so many options!
when you mailed proof of 4N training did you sent you QTP or STS to missouri. i’m in florida too and my UTM isn’t completely sure on what exactly should be sent since i will be the first to challenge the board
Do you need a Missouri address to challenge the board and sit for the test in Missouri? I am a guardsman with a Louisiana address. Louisiana doesn't allow 4N0s sit for the LPN exam.
Hey Kaylee! I’m in the Louisiana Air National Guard also, were you able to go out of state and test & have your license transferred to Louisiana ? Or did you not go through the process?
Since you already had a degree, what was the process between getting the LPN certification and starting nursing school, did you have additional credits that you had to take?
I finished my CCAF degree at the beginning of Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. There are LPN-RN programs that you could definitely look into if you don't want to do the BSN route. I'm finding the experience working as an LPN very beneficial while in nursing school. And it allows you to do more than most of my classmates working as CNAs and PCTs. I still recommend it. But since i did not take the LPN-RN route, I'm not sure what it entails.
Why do you suggest getting your ccaf before applying? because my supervisor said that the ccaf degree won’t be recognized in the civilian world which if true would be waste of time if I go for the lpn-rn route. Just trying to see if I should obtain or not since you been through the process. Thank you!
Alrighty. Through my experience, the Missouri Board of Nursing requested the CCAF degree or at least the transcript showing that I completed the program so that I can take the exam. Jobs/agencies have asked for it afterwards along with the license. If you aren't interested in working as an LPN, you can certainly skip to the direct RN route. I made this video for those who are interested in becoming LPNs. I, personally, worked as a LPN while in BSN-RN school and very glad that I did. I CLEP'd out of whatever courses i needed after CCAF applied my previous college work though. Of course, the decision is yours to make.
Oh no sorry my plan is to work as a LPN because I will be separating soon and have a baby. I just didn’t know if what my supervisor was saying was true or not. And you would know more since you been through the process and I’m currently going through it so I was unsure of what to do, but thank you again for helping me.
@@miaq392 awesome! Good luck :) and trust me, even with previous degrees and while I was pursuing the BSN, human resources still asked for the LPN education. The AS in Practical Nursing Technology sufficed. CCAF is a recognized school. Best wishes on your next steps and the new little one!
Hey Zadha... I became an Air Force Medic in the Minnesota Air National Guard after serving four years of active duty as a Photo Interprter. Since I was full time in Chiropractic College year round the ANG in MN haD ME TRAIN INTO 4NO on the job at the base. Do you or does someone know how I would get proof of my 4NO from the ANG since I didn't go to the Air Force school due to being a year round college student in my DC program?
Might be a stupid question but I’m completing Tech School as a 4N right now. I’m also guard in Georgia. I just wanted to know if you had to travel to Missouri to take the exam?
Also I’m pursuing my CCAF is that a requirement to challenge the board? I heard you have to complete your 5 lvl training before getting it. Is that accurate? What are the requirements to take this route. I’m in the air national guard btw
@@carolsaunders6707 You do need your 5 lvl to challenge the board. I’m also ANG. More detailed info can be found in the KX. I’d be happy to send you NYS LPN process, if that’s the route your going.
Not sure if you mentioned this sorry, but are you active ? I’m reserve and not sure how long the process will take to get the funding and okay to do it
@@zhadaray so basically you just have to pass the exam and get the certificate? No schooling is necessary? In your experience how long did the process take for you to schedule the exam? Sorry I have so many questions haha
@@angelinagonzalez1724 it took about a year and a half to find out info just to get the process started. Thus the reason why I took my time and created the pdf to help others speed up the process. Finish your CCAF degree, and afterwards download the PDF in the link. It should answer all of your questions.
@@angelinagonzalez1724 you're welcome! Feel free to pass on the info to your UTM to help others. I definitely stress completing the CCAF (which includes getting your 5-level). I'll prob stress that in the PDF... The PDF is a way better, more straight forward piece of information than this video. I just quickly recorded this video one night. So, def check out the PDF...the link is in the description. Anyway, thanks for asking your questions! Have a great day/eve!
Hey! So, you have to take the two exams. Talk with your unit training manager in how often your unit schedules the tests in addition to your training phases. And be sure to complete your degree. I realized that when places hired me, they needed that Associate's Degree
I'm not sure. I was already in an RN program. But the CCAD degree is an associate's degree. So, maybe.. If you ask a representative, please let me know.
