Thanks Steve I was following closely and I picked up a great deal of knowledge about learning new languages. English is my second language and I have an insatiable desire to learn and become fluent. I'll keep learning while maintaining a positive attitude. I can only get better in the process. Thanks Jennifer for inviting Steve. I really appreciate it.
Thank you Steve and Jennifer. ❤❤❤ It's really, really interesting!! It's the second time I've heard Steve (interviewed by a french teacher the first time). It's really helpful to have his feedback about making mistakes and enjoy the process of learning most of all. It's really hard to accept that, to be confortable with, but it's really important to work on it. I think it could be great for me to watch this video again several times.
Thank you, Mr. Steve! This interview helps me to become more confident about language learning. I am also thankful for Mrs. JForrest. You make a great job.
Hello, Jennifer.😊 Thanks a lot for the amazing interview with Steve. I found many of his words both impressive and informative. For example, "Enjoy the process.", "Don't try to be perfect.", "Trust the brain.", "Polyglots accept uncertainty.", "Forgetting is part of the process.", "Put in the time." and MORE. We tend to pursue good progress, but it might ensue as we simply keep going. Thanks Steve❗😊
Absolutely agree with this beautiful man. People, reading and reading a lot will lead you to perfection. 20 books at least in English plus the lessons of this nice lady.
Hi Jennifer! Thanks a lot, Steve, for the awesome tips for learning English, and thanks to Jennifer for the excellent questions! Steve gave us students with his “pep talk” a lot of encouragement not to be afraid of mistakes, to have a good motivation, and to put in time to learn more. As for me when it comes to learning English, I tick most of the boxes as I have good motivation, I am not afraid of making mistakes, and I study regularly. The foundation is solid! Speaking English is especially difficult, and I make mistakes mostly then, but like Steve said: that doesn't matter, just keep on trying!
My favorite part of the interview is when he talks about to enjoy the learning process and we should have to put a great amount of emphasis on listening and reading to get confidence.
My favorite part of this interview was when he talked about the importance of enjoying the process while learning a new language, because when you are enjoying it the process becomes way easier, so I’ll keep going further knowing that every day I’ll get better!
That’s very true, because it’s naturally easy to learn languages that are enjoyable, so it’s very important to only choose pretty languages with mostly pretty words, as pretty words naturally bring a lot of joy to the eye / ear and a naturally motivating! I highly recommend learning English 2gether with Dutch / Icelandic + Norse / Norwegian as they are the prettiest and most refined and most poetic languages ever, and all other Germanic languages are also gorgeous, so they are all a great option, and also Welsh / Breton etc and the other 4 modern Celtic languages, and there are a lot more, honestly, but I am learning them all, and learning 15+ languages at the moment! I am writer level in English and upper advanced level in Dutch and intermediate level Icelandic / Norse / Welsh and advanced level in Norwegian, and the learning process is always a lot of fun!
By the way, my current levels are... - intermediate level in Old Norse / Icelandic / Welsh - writer level in English + native speaker level in Spanish - upper advanced level in Dutch + advanced level in Norwegian - mid intermediate level in German / Swedish / Portuguese / French / Italian - beginner level in Breton / Hungarian / Gothic / Latin / Faroese / Galician / Danish / Slovene - total beginner in Cornish / Manx / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Aranese / Elfdalian / Gallo / Limburgish / Occitan / Luxembourgish / Catalan / East Norse / Ripuarian / Swiss German / Alemanic / Austrian German / PlatDeitsch / Greenlandic Norse / Friulian / Pretarolo / Sardinian / Neapolitan / Sicilian / Venetian / Esperanto / Walloon / Ladin / Guernsey / Norn / Burgundian / West Frisian / North Frisian / East Frisian / Finnish / Latvian / Estonian etc (and the other languages based on Dutch / German / Norwegian / Italian / French that are referred to as ‘dialects’ but are usually a different language with different spelling etc)
Thank you Steve and Jennifer, I' am trying to improve my english for IELST test, and some times it is really frustrating, especially the grammar and advanced formal vocabulary. Watching this interview, I realize that I need to be more confident and enjoying the process. thanks again for all yours wonderfull tips.
Thanks, Steve and Miss Jeneffer for this amazing and productive conversation, definitely I love all the experiences, techniques and information that Steve shared, I am really sure that the process is the key to learn this complicated but loved language.
Hello everyone! I am currently learning English and a teacher said that we should study studiously the grammar and make sentences with each topic we're studying about and then speak them loudly and repeat. What do you about this method, do you think it is useful? Hope someone can give me an opinion!😊❤
This method is fundamental to learning any language. You’ll be able to form correct sentences automatically and will never forget it. It’s, also, crucial to focus on learning oral comprehension right from the beginning. It’s the hardest part in any language.
Thanks Steve and Miss Jeneffer for this valuable video. You mentioned numerous priceless tips which was incredibly amazing to us. There is no shortcut for learning. You have to enjoy the process of your learning and honestly we have to be patient while we are learning the good things will come to you eventually. This completely happened to me when I was younger. I was not patient and I criticized myself that you are not able to learn English. But, as I was going through the process I saw getting result in my speaking especially in my writing. To conclude , enjoy the process of your learning, give yourself enough time and encouragement through the way, give yourself enough inputs. Thank you ❤
WOW, this interview was truly fascinating, I'd had seen some Steve's videos however never one like this, thx Steve for sharing all of these pieces of advice. I loved the video. Positive attitude and keep going...
Thank you Jennifer for doing this interview with Steve Kaufmann, actually he’s second to none in terms of learning as many languages as possible. The video is not only worth watching but also saving so one can watch it again and again .. Very interesting ideas indeed ❤
The whole interview! This is the second time I watch and listen to Steve Kauffmann! He is a really unique person! You have discussed many tips I am always thinking about! To my opinion, this is the best video for this year so far, hoping to have new ones in the future! Thanks from my ❤️ for both of you!
Excellent interview. I totally agree with Steve. I learned Portuguese from listening to Brazilian shows and podcasts everyday for about 2 hours, no grammar. About two years later, I visited Brazil and I thought I got enough language to "survive". I was very surprised when I started speaking with locals and they understood me! I felt so happy!! All that passive learning got transformed into active communication. Language learners, keep "consuming" the language of your interest. Eventually it will come out more naturally.
Thanks Steve !! I loved when he said "if you wanna be totally safe and comfortable you don't learn another foreign language" Powerful and wise advices, i realy thank both of you ❤️
Thank you Jennifer it was a very helpful interview I think big problem for me and many other people is that is not much opportunity to talk with native speakers
Steve used the word certitude. Not confidence. That's probably the key. When I believe in something, not in myself, but in something, then I have something to say. And the words will appear automatically.
Thanks for this useful interview with this inspiring person I was really need to confirme to my self that listening make one able to speak easily cause I experienced that the words flow out of the mouth effortlessly when you start to speak
Steve's words are not only for language learning.they are the lessons for life as well. Especially the words " accept the uncertainty ". If we wish to have safe and perfect life. That's not going to happen.about my life is very hard.
Thank you for the great advice, now im feel better, and make me more confident to speak. Learn language like a baby learn new language it will get better.
I think that my biggest problem is not to read.I really feel bored when I read anything in foreign language.I will read from now on 😀😀😀And I will share my experiences with you.
Two simple points : 1) You need a real curiosity, interest for what you study ; 2) You need time to "digest" whatever you study. Speed, being faster is a madness of nowadays.
I feel this way while learning french how do I improve my speaking and listening ability is the greatest challenges I am very fluent in English as my second language and my native African language. My level of confidence is very low
Thank so much the interview was very impressive and crucial Let's keep confident, attitudes, and accept mistakes as part of the learning process 🎉❤ Thanks alot both of you
Thanks Jennifer, you always surprising us with new technique to easy learning and become fluent and confident in English. Thank you very much for this amazing interview with Steve..thanks again Jennifer
I very much enjoyed this conversation. Everything that was mentioned makes a lot of sense to me, specially the fact that learning a language is process of continuous growth and improvement, even in your native language! Thanks a lot for all your videos!
I heard this advice for many time not only from steve but also others polygot and most of them said the same things. I thought steve has a new idea like listening an english podcast, paused if you don't understand , open google translate and write on your notebook phone like i did every single day 😂 . The hardest learning english for me is pronoun. I made lots of mistakes in this part.
