my theory on what we see as the neighbor's view plus the sign: The sign is showing 3 kids attached to a father/mother, but 1 is falling which the apple is saying "The apple falls far from the tree", the view is, we're the neighbor and we're at our neighbor's house, the record player is broken and he comes home to us and throws a golden apple at us to knock is out cold, but the neighbor is our player and my theory on him, WE are his brother, trying to apologize for something but he doesn't think so, so he kicks us out, which explains the cutscene after finishing the basement where we opened the letter and take the stuff outside, as if it's been months or years since a family member sent something and we're told to get the key for the next door house, and in the full game (if no more alphas) we play through Alpha 2, Alpha 1, Alpha 3 then 4 as each time in that order, the house grows in development, if this is to happen, it explains why he goes at us before we get into his house in the first place.

Maybe the 'kid' broke the CD player, as shown in cut scene right in front of you, and therefore the child was expelled from the family, as indicated by the sign next to the smaller horn or maybe the cut scene showed that the neighbor broke the gramophone and therefore was expelled from the family and became grumpy

the blue key was there because you threw it into the cog room. The "horn" is the thing that gives you back what you put in there. If you look closely, you can see the big pipe leads from the cog room to that room! AND I JUST NOTICED! The cut scene location can be seen under the map, some youtubers found the room and a figure with weird particles like the one if you go frame by frame! Under the map you can look at it in another video!

fun fact, in one of the rooms on the top floor, if you look with the binoculars you can see a pair of hands leaning against the window

If you go under the map you'll see the area where the neighbor cutscene happened, theres going to be a surprise too

5 THEORIES BELOW vvv THEORY 1: In the cutscene the figure thats walking away by the window is his mother. She abandoned him. Just like the sign shows. The biggest stick figure (his mother) dropped one of the smallest ones (her child, the neighbour). And this means, that he has got 3 brothers/sisters as well. And in the previous ALPHA 3 we could hear a scream of a girl in the basement. These could be his sister. . THEORY 2: The figure walking away in the cutscene is his wife. She broke up with him. The girl in the basement is one their children. . THEORY 3: The figure walking away in the cutscene is his wife. They had 3 children. And in the cutscene it shows his wife going away, which might mean that she passed away. Since in the sign there were 4 children and one falling off. She might have passed away giving birth to one of their kids. Which might have died or not . THEORY 4: His mom passed away while giving birth to him, the neighbour. Her fourth child. And he blames himself for it. . THEORY 5: The figure is you. His brother. In the sign one is falling off. So, you are either that one, and you're coming to see him after a long time, or he's the one, and you're coming to see how he's been doing.

Theory: The neighbor's mother abounded the neighbor and kept the 3 daughters/sons then he kidnapped the children in alpha 2 and killed all the family members and his family's souls kept screaming and he wanted his family back so in the cutscene he was trying to sell his soul to the demon and we he looked at the mirror he saw the demon but his soul didn't get sold so he used the horn to the call the demon everytime. The devs were surprising happy when people hacked into the game, there are the secret messages, hidden stuff you haven't found yet plus the gears seem to be a different art style, there are the alternate dimensions, which you get magical abilities from, his house is so extreme when compared to everyone else's, all the unfished textures, and everything else we have found do you think it is possible that the neighbor changed the game to his advantage., and that that scene was him either afraid that you were taking his power or just afraid of what he could do.

i think the sign where you put the apple in is maybe a parent hugging there children and possibly the one falling off is the neighbour so its telling us that the neighbour left alone or someone else (one of the children) was the parents favourite

I think the sign means that the neighbor had siblings who are loved. And he wasn't because either his mother or his father did not like him hence the shadow figure which he is scared or maybe his parents were abusive to him.

Here's what I think the sign means: First, the comparison is a tree and its apples are comparable to a human and its offspring. One child was separated- I believe that this goes along with the term 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree'. Which could mean that one of the neighbor's children left him, but has eventually returned. The ending of 'becoming the neighbor' seems to be a representation of the fear of becoming him. Like an apple could, metaphorically, fear becoming the tree that created it. This, along with the player's obvious interest in the neighbor and possible history, could be a key. I believe that the player is the neighbor's son, who knew of something terrible he did and ran away. However, years later he decides to return to either stop his father or find his other siblings, who he notices are constantly unaccounted for. This could explain why the neighbor constantly catches and throws you out instead of killing you; while he could be infuriated with you 'leaving him', he may not be at the point to actual murder his own son... Especially if the son is starting to grow up in his own image. Or, on the contrary, maybe the neighbor actually doesn't recognize you as his son. This would explain the player's desire to get into the house and find answers. He's not just a nosy neighbor, but is intimately connected to the situation.

I'd say the tree symbolizes a family tree and the Apple (shot down by the neighbor's neighbor, which may have further meaning) is the neighbour as u turn into him after using it. As the Apple gets removed it may symbolize that the family abandons him (maybe BC of your players Character, since he attacks you before u even get in the house, he might not want you near his house)

I think the green sign is supposed to be an apple tree. the tall person doing the t-pose is the tree, and the little people hanging on its arms are the apples on the tree. and the apple on the ground represents when you shoot down the golden apple with the gun.

u have to maybe get the machine to work and check the one in the tall grass there alike just not the size which means size don't matter :)
