EP 082: How to become the trader you wish you were w/ Futures Trader 71
For the second time on Chat With Traders, my guest is Morad or better known as; Futures Trader 71.
As you could imagine, FT is a futures trader, he’s also very short-term and has been trading for about 16 years now. During this time, he was the founder of a successful prop firm and more recently, has started a brokerage; Stage 5 Trading.
First time around (on episode 37) we spoke extensively about FT’s path of becoming a trader, market profile and volume profile, and creating a legacy. This time we spoke about all new topics…
For example; how to learn a new skill, how to measure your progress besides PnL, how to remove attachment to the outcome, how FT uses a regressive risk management strategy, and plenty more too.

Practice and focus and become supremely good at 3-5 setups. Don't continually chase the next shiny trading object. Don't over-leverage, and size down with each loss so you have more opportunities to get in sync with the market before reaching daily max loss. Trade with care, but also detachment regarding outcome. Realize that if you're trading according to a proven edge and its not working out, it may just not be a good day or few particular days for your edge. Treat each trade like a separate transaction, without consideration for emotional baggage or P/L's from previous trades. Pure gold. 👌

Right, something was up on my end--not sure how, but playback was at 1.25x or 1.5x. Immediately assumed it was on your end since I've never been able to change playback speed on RU-vid before or ever needed to. Sure enough, tried again this evening and all is normal. can't get enough of this interview. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to it. Truly a gem of. Whenever I start questioning my strategy (which happens to be quite solid) I come back to this podcast to re-affirm that it's okay to lose, accept it and move on.

Many thanks Aaron this has to be the best ive watched so far. I wish I had this guy to kick me into shape I would be making better progress! Its amazing to think I probably have a good strategies "Christ ive back tested it enough" but its me that's getting in the way! It may or may not be a good move but I think I'm going to have a break and take a long hard look at my self and what I'm doing! Just signed up to twitter and following the chat with site. most people want and pay for indicators and signals. But anyone who can keep a journal can see and develop his own methodology and start making money. But almost everyone has some baggage emotionally and that's what really keeps them from making money.

putting down brokers who offer low margins is totally wrong....and TradeStation is the best platform to trade and study. dunno if this trader is still making money as he claims.....

Why is it wrong? High leverage has destroyed more accounts than anything I can imagine, in my experienced opinion. No, Tradestation isn't the best solution for futures traders. I disagree with this assessment.
