How to bit a horse: eggbutt snaffle and loose ring snaffle 

Actually if your going to get an eggbutt snaffle bit then get one by JP Korsteel. Their bits have curved mouthpieces so that there is no nutcracker action on the tongue and the bit does not touch the roof of the horses mouth. It's so much more gentle and more comfortable for the horse. I recommend the JP Korsteel Eggbutt Snaffle Bit.

Ok first of all, bits aren't always bad if they are used properly. Second of all it's good if your horse knows how to accept a bit because in many place such as shows, trails, and other places of the sort will require a bit for the horse.
