I just bought a 2020 Tundra and I am in the process of dechroming it. I used the overlays and they are great. As a test I took it to the car wash and tried to blow them off with the pressure washer. They stayed. My advice to anyone who lives in a cold climate like me, bring your truck indoors or wait for it to warm up to 55 before installing these.
I did this back in Nov 2019. Went to eBay to find it. Company was out of FL. They made a mistake on the order. I sent them an email and described the error made. They replied immediately and sent the correct set to my door in two days. I offered to send the wrong ones back and they said not to worry about it. I sent them back anyways. Sorry I don’t have the link. I know you can order different sets for different year and model Tundras.
The back emblem definetly isnt cheesy lol I put it in on my 2018 (cement in colour) it really makes it stand out. I thinks it's cool but to each their own
A technique to use to remove the existing OEM chrome badges is to use a heat gun and a fishing line. Apply the heat on top of the chrome badges and utilize the fishing line to wedge in between the panel and glue. With the heat gun or blow dryer "fish" the line cautiously across while exerting minimal force and pull towards you. Emblems should come off the panel. Good luck!
Great video. Just got a black ‘21 Tacoma and I’m looking to give it the same treatment with the blackout overlays. I was debating between the tailgate too...what’s your thought on the Tacoma lettering? Leave it bare like you did your Tundra or get matte black letters? I have chrome on there now and planned to remove for sure.
@@mr.mr.3301 I just waited for a warm day cleaned the badges on the truck with alcohol and pressed the black badges on for about 45 seconds each. Had them on for about 2 weeks with no issues.
I should actually explain, I did the overlay on the door handles. I pried off the other emblems and replaced them and added the 4x4 and it turned out great.
Hi so I took my 2019 Tundra! Black yes like yours it’s beautiful 😍 about the stereo will they fix it ! Thank you 🙏 I subscribed to your wonderful channel 👍 see ya on the next one .
Great video, do you know if the overlays are compatible with the 2007-13 models? I got a '11 Tundra 5.7L, I'm looking to blackout my truck as well, thanks!
I just held up the kit to my 2011 at the dealership and the Tundra badges do not fit. Also, no surprise but it doesn't include the small Toyota badge on the Gen 2 tailgate
I have a question how can I remove the Tundra sticker that my boyfriend put on the back of the tundra the one you said your not installing I liked it original he went and put a chrome I really didn’t like it. Please 🙏 help. This is between you and me lol 😆
I remember the days when I was buying chrome mirror covers, handle covers and emblems etc for my 2007 toyota Tacoma, now we are doing opposite. I think it just a trend not a real esthetic difference.
I bought an SR5 and after doing a lot of on line shopping I actually paid way less to "turn" my Tundra into a TRD Pro. Hardest thing was trying to find a black grill and being able to install the TSS sensor in the Toyota badge.
Good strategy. Only problem is the resale value. The VINNED pros will bring a lot more $ on sale or trade and be the ones to have years from now when everything has gone electronic.
She Who Must Be Obeyed, stated, "This is the last new truck you are going to buy!!!" Since I will be driving it for a while and not selling it, I figured I might as well accessorize it the way I want.
