The vehicle in this video is a 2007 Toyota Camry the ABS module & Master cylinder was replaced causing air to enter the brake system.
If you own a Toyota/Lexus hybrid vehicle and you end up getting air in your brake system or do anything that involves the rear brakes and you cannot bleed the rear brakes hopefully this video can be of use to you.

Question: We bought a 2009 HyHi, drives great but then the brakes started lightly "giving out" when I would brake. Not all the way give out but it feels like im braking with air, not fluid. Brake pads are all new, even the actuator looks new itself, or at least new enough/recently installed, so we bled the brakes with the correct tool, clear the codes and itll drive perfect for even a couple days! (We did get a lot of air but one tire in the back will not give us any air. The side switches. Yeah, weve bled the brakes multiple times as a band aid. The fluid was overfull when we bought it too.) Then the issue will start to come back and the abs and other lights come back too. It also makes a weird noise like something is getting stuck briefly when I let off the gas and when im holding the brake at a red light. Its like a squeaky dolphin at the red light, when driving its more like a click/clank. Almost sounds and feels like something is falling off my tire but I know thats not the case. What could be the issue? Any guesses? I know I have to have it serviced but the dealership is playing games with the title so thats why we are doing band aid fixes until we know its ours officially.

@@JamieNotLamie If you purchased your vehicle from a dealer, take it back to them and have it fixed that’s a safety hazard. I would say you can simply gravity bleed the brakes but it sounds like you have a bigger problem that needs to be addressed.
@JamieNotLamie

@@ultimatediyguy395 I mean I got the car with a few grand off because we knew it was throwing ABS codes, we made a deal with the dealer. May be taking it back over not getting the title but that's another issue. 🤦‍♀️ I have an appointment on Monday at the shop already but I'm just trying to figure out what it could be. Making a burning smell too, you can tell they didn't bleed the brakes properly when they refurbed it at the dealer. But bleeding them helps briefly fix it every time. It's been keeping me safe in the meantime. Must be a leak or that one freaking module thing needs to be replaced.

Did you have to have someone press on the brake pedal while bleeding both sides of the rear? Or can you just use the hand pump to do it

i just bought that scan tool it will be here ina couple of days did 4 rotors and brakes traction light abs brake light is on dash looks like a christmas tree car stops fine i jacked the right rear up and hit the brakes and the wheel keeps turning but the brakes are stiff and right at the top.i wonder if i could do the steps without opening the bleeders because i know there's no air in the system i just need the calipers to push out
@jamesbroomfield7799
@jamesbroomfield7799 8 месяцев назад
How did your brake job turn out. Does yours have the electric parking brake? If so, Did you have to put power to the electric parking brake actuator before pushing down your piston on the caliper?

You need the tool to reset the system properly. Otherwise it will still think it has an issue.

Can I ask you a question, when did the light come on? Like what lead to you needing to bleed the brakes? And was the VSC light on before you bleed the brakes?
@daniellacruz5666
@daniellacruz5666 2 года назад
Ultimate DIY Guy hi, thank you for answering, I had to change the ABS pump system so after that I bleed brakes following your video but lights are still there, I don’t know what to do now
@ultimatediyguy395
@ultimatediyguy395 2 года назад
@@daniellacruz5666 hmm does the ABS activate when you drive? Like do you feel the pedal pushing back at you?see if the scan tool can pull the codes for the light record the trouble codes if any then clear the codes out. Typically the VSC works off of your ABS sensors by simply driving the car it’ll usually go away. If that doesn’t work you can also try to reset it. With the car in park hold the Traction button for several seconds until you see the “TRAC OFF” & “VSC OFF” lights come on that means the systems are turned off. Then simply press the button to reengaged it. If none of those work you may have a bigger problem and may need to take it to get serviced. I hope this helps

Ultimate DIY Guy No ABS has not been activated at any time, c1345 (linear solenoid valve offset learning undone) is the code

With the exception of the ABS motor turning on you bleed the brakes normally. But good point I will make a separate video showing how to bleed brakes using the 2 man method
