Here’s an interesting topic that I’ve never heard anyone tackle. There’s tons of videos on confidence but what about having confidence but some people, maybe a boss or friend or family member chops you down for being happy, expressive, and confident. Not overzealous but a healthy amount. How do you deal with people who shunt your energy. I feel like in the last few years due to the state of the world being happy is threatening to most people. Respect and love to all the people in this comment’s section.

This is an important aspect to consider. I understand it very well, and I hate that I find myself uncomfortable around others who are happy, expressive, and confident, when I don’t feel allowed to be that way myself. It’s a feeling of resentment.

That’s exactly what i feel. Whenever i think I’ll do it no matter what somebody would make me feel down and it always happen. I just become so sad at this point. Let me give you an example people say I’m expressionless but whenever i try to show expressions i got made fun of. It’s not always that would be an overstatement but most of the time. Now i have become that guy that I’ll be sitting alone in a room even with 100 people that knows me pretty well. I’ll be the quietest one and it makes me feel so lonely.

Anytime I’ve compared myself to others, I’ve felt less than. Until I realized that the only person I should compare myself to, is the person I was yesterday. No matter what you compare, you will always find someone richer, better looking than you, has a nicer car, has a better (fill in the blanks). And it's totally pointless. When I began focusing on the idea of going to bed better than I woke up, basically making sure that throughout day I do things that make a better version than the one who woke up that morning, then life really began to change for me. Focus on you and your own progress. Run your own marathon!

I feel like anytime we give ourselves the opportunity to DO something that our initial reaction to was “I can’t’”, it is a huge confidence boost. Even if doesn’t go perfectly or even particularly well you are still proving to yourself that you CAN. And you didn’t die. This on repeat is how I’ve built my confidence.

No, not really. He wanted her to let herself take up space and be loud. She doesn't HAVE TO be loud all the time to seem confident. It's just so she'll able to be both without overthinking and stressing out. It's not about "force this behaviour every time without much thinking" but about "feel the emotions that arise from going out of your comfort zone, let yourself process them, then repeat until it no longer causes fear"

I disagree. She obviously went to that talk because she feels like she lacks confidence. Her reaction at the end was clearly a lot more expressive than previously and she looked happy from it. She wouldn't be on that stage if her natural reaction was quiet. I know what you mean but I just disagree.

The solution to the human problem is NOT within yourself. "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) Man is a sinner, and sinners need the redeeming grace of God. ALL the problems in the world, involving humanity, are cause by sin. He does NOT come into judgement. . ." (John 5:24) Then, once you are born again into the family of God and are a child of the Heavenly Father, you will receive the Holy Spirit. HE will produce in you "love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self control." (Galatians 5:22-23) Pursue the Lord, your Maker, and HIS Kingdom and righteousness. Jesus promises that everything else, which this internet guru tries to SELL you, WILL be given to you from the Father (Matthew 6:33). If you will not repent and follow Jesus in all He says, the Bible says there is NO peace for the wicked, and ONLY the judgement of Hell remains.

He only does so after you repent of your sins and turn to the Father through Jesus Christ in faith, and submit to Him as your Lord and Savior. The solution is outside yourself, and then He comes inside you and changes you by grace.

Huh? 500 million would make anyone confident. Why wouldn’t she confident talking to a friend about that? He’s not coaching confidence, thats coaching for excitement and enthusiasm. She said “Wooooo” and that’s supposed to represent confidence? Enthusiasm and confidence are distinctly different things.
