Great video of how to bore sight a rifle. Not everyone tells you “with out moving the gun” common sense but such a crucial point. Well explained and demonstrated. Cheers.
Poor mans sight we call it and i think thats the best way to do it. Ive always did better with that the lasers. So i just gave mine away. I just wanted to see for myself how reliable they where but they let me done lol.
Mark, I to am a lefty and will using this method on my Savage .22wmr with a red dot. Looks to me like it should still apply. I have a Tipton gun vise so should be able to keep it steady. Enjoyed the video.
Wow, a left-handed-left-eye-dominant shooter is actually using a left-handed bolt action rifle! There are far too many lefties using right -handed bolt actions. If more of us would demand left-handed versions, manufacturers could no longer ignore us! Also, there are many right handed but left-eyed dominant shooters who would greatly benefit from using a left handed rifle. Probably one third of the demand out there would be for left-handed versions if people got what they really needed.
@cliff dunning I just got into shooting 3 years ago. I'm right handed but left eye dominant. I'm only looking for left handed rifles and was quite surprised to learn that they're very hard to find and even more so at competitive prices. I have a few entry to mid tier right hand rifles that my wife will primarily use. Recently picked up an entry level left handed rifle to really enjoy the experience: Savage 110 Apex Hunter.
@@msm9430 Cool. I also have a Savage model 11 LH. I have a wife and two sons who are all right handed but left eye dominant. There are a lot of left-eyed shooters who put up with very little attention and options from manufacturers.
I have owned a few right handed rifles but after a couple of failed follow up shots on deer because of the awkwardness of reloading a second round I decided to only use left handed rifles from now on.
25 yards is just a easy distance to get on the target bore sighting, once i can see where I’m putting holes i then move it out and zero at 50 yards for my .22lr or 100 yards my for centerfires.
Thanks mate, yes I was using subsonics, only travel at about 700fps because I’m on acreage and don’t want to upset the neighbour’s, yes all my rifles are left handed now, cheers for watching
Nice….. so ur pretty much chasing the bullet impact with the scope???? Ive been wanting to buy a new rifle with iron sights. But all i can find nowadays is with scopes and no sights,,,, i didnt want to go thru that whole process of sighting in the scope, and slinging bullets untill its good, hahahaha
It’s just easier to start off close, once on the board you can move out to the distance you want to zero your rifle at, if you started at say 50 or 100m away you may miss the target completely and have no marks to work out what adjustments you need to make
@@MarkLinno81 question man does this also work on Airsoft bolt action Bb guns? i have one with a 4 x 40 scope However it's different with real guns and Airsoft bb's you can't directly take the Bolt out like a real gun?so is it possible to skip that step with my bolt action airsoft bb gun and just draw and color in the colored dot keep my airsoft gun stable and turn my windage and elevation to matchup the Scope with the center black dot on my airsoft rifle? i should be zeroed in then yes?
Yes mate, bore sighting is only needed to get your scope close enough so your hitting on the target, once hitting anywhere on the target you can adjust your scope accordingly
