I have a similar range, a RDDS30VRS which has four burners. It has two ExtraLow burners, so there is a Tytronics AQ003-HA Gas Simmer Controller installed between the burner control knobs and the original RI 324 Spark Module. When I installed this new Spark Module as instructed by this video and the included paper instructions, the igniters would continuously spark and never stop. I noticed that the pin on the connector from the gas simmer module that would go to SW1 was unpopulated, and the pin position labels on the original were all stepped over one from this new Spark Module (you can see the same relationship at 4:43 in this video - there is an open square on the RI 302 where SW1 is on the RI 306, SW1 is stepped over to where SW2 is, etc.), so I connected the igniters to the 2, 3, 4, and 5 output positions to match instead, and now everything works fine.
SUPERSAUCY you are the man. I was having issues with my Thermador GR304US and since I had it apart (having to grind off the Venturi bolts) and was replacing many parts it occurred to me I didn't want to do it again. So I ordered a new spark module to replace the 20 year old one which was working fine as far as I knew. After all the many parts from several vendors arrived I replaced everything and was very frustrated with two burners continuing to spark after igniting. Every answer on the net was a cleaning or other issue I could disregard. I called an appliance guy and he said, "If you've replaced everything you've stated I can't help you." Finally I came across your comment. I re-ran the igniters on pins 2 thru 5 and it operates like new again. Thanks! Those instructions from the module manufacturer were cruelly, and ignorantly, dead wrong.
@@michaelclausen8738 Lordy I hope this solves my problem TOO!!! PRG304US...4 burner and exact same thing you mention above with the 6 pot module...will take it apart again tomorrow and report back. Been playing musical chairs with the module just to get the burners working so we could use the stove.
very nice instructions. You unfortunately did not describe HOW to test the spark module (and eliminate the igniter and switch as issues). Please point me to the debugging instructions, so that i don't have to buy all three parts and return the unneeded ones.
I have a Thermador PRG366US. I changed the spark module, but when the stove gets hot the ignitors quit working and I can't light additional burners except with an external flame.
I have a RDDS30 and replaced the simmer controller as well as the two XLO pots. Now the LF (XLO) will only turn gas on when the RR is on. Otherwise it all works including XLOs.. I have checked the ignitor wiring and appears to be correct. I have tried a new ignitor control unit and no change. Would love any ideas. Thanks Tim
Unfortunately, parts are no longer available for this model, so the manufacturer is no longer providing the part information, so there is nothing we can recommend. You may need to contact the manufacturer to get the part number you need, or you could try a vintage/antique appliance company to see if they can help you find a part.
