How to BREAK 90 

I am Gudda … and it is so cool playing with Gabriella. It is the best part of being Gudda. More than golf, she is the perfect granddaughter. ❤️

I am 70 and went to Myrtle Beach last month for a week of golf with my nephew and his friends. On the first day ( after a long drive and plane ride), I came dead last at a miniature golf tournament ( at a famous Hawaiian course), and after dinner, I won the Top Golf Target tournament. The young guns were pounding it 300 yards, but I was finding the targets. So we reached learned . We played some fantastic courses. They two a day, I played one, then lunch and hot tub and pool ... Gabby, it was great to see you out for a round with your grandfather.

It is so beautiful to see this young woman's obvious love for golf. But also, for her beloved Grandpa. 💯

What a nice video! It's always so cool being able to play with relatives. Gudda will lower his handicap in no time just from the putting and chipping stroke tips given above alone. I think that one of the most common things that casual golfers do is to look to see where their ball goes almost immediately after contact (sometimes even before which creates the dreaded topped/thin shots). This happens on full swings, pitches, chips and putting. If you can fight the urge to look up for maybe even just the count of ONE, it can help keep the club in line JUST that much longer to avoid going off target. Also, a lot of casual golfers don't finish their full swing (also from looking up early) and their club sticks straight up at the end instead of being allowed to swing via gravity around to touch the back of their head. It's kind of like the difference between pulling in a fish versus letting the fish pull your arms out. That feeling of letting go or letting the club go where it wants without pulling it in and stopping it early is something that could help a lot of us who try to control the club instead of letting it go where it wants to. I'm only at the halfway point of this video and looking forward to part 2. You can do it, Gudda!

I agree with Gudda, I love my Pitching wedge and use it to chip with most of the time, however, if you have a long chip that has to go uphill, you should probably use a 9 iron with back stance run up....the practice time you put in helps you estimate how much each shot will run out...also, if you hood the club a bit it will roll straighter...when it lands on the green.

I think this has been my favorite video of yours. Was fun to watch you help out a high handicapper get under 90. For those of us with an 18+ handicap, shooting under 90 makes the rest of your day great. And nice shout out to Phil Mickelson. His video for pitching and chipping under 50 yards has really helped me, since, like Gudda, I don’t hit a lot of greens in reg either. Really jealous how effortless your swing looks and how easy you make 35 ft putts look btw. Great video, keep it up!

Great video Gabby. I like how you gave advise to your grandpa but still let him play his game. The little "tweaks" made a difference and you could tell that he really paid attention to your input.

Just noticed you're a "lead hand low" on your putting stroke. I've found that's helped my game quite a bit. Gudda putts the traditional way (lead hand high). I've found the change to lead hand low has helped me not turn the putter after contact ... and I'm making more putts. My hope before I turn 70 ... is to break par (I'm 67). Been shooting low to mid 70's. Took me forever to break 80, and I've come close to breaking par a few times. I just found your channel today! You're very talented. Hope you the best!

Hi Gabby. This was so awesome that you had your special Gudda out there taking in some better ways to chip and putt, the area where if you improve on those shots, you save shots. Gudda so proud of you and just adores his grand daughter. He's got plenty of reasons to feel that way. I myself have benefitted from studying the shots you play for different situations and I truly thank you for that. I'm now hitting under mid 80's more often. You are a true gem Gabby. As someone that struggles to break 90 consistently, I'll take these tips. Especially the putting tips. But I am in western Pennsylvania and our courses are very hilly and full of trees. So nearly every shot the ball is below or above my feet, which is frustrating to consistently hit clean shots. I'm envious your Florida golf. Thanks gabby!

Coaching is hard and very easy to get disappointed. Coaching young kids is so much easier than adults you have already established bad habits. Bad habits isn't that right word. Well established other ways to play? You did very well on adjusting little things and keeping everything else as is. In the end the fun factor outways fixing too much when you are older. Also love the side by side shot of both of you driving. That was a nice change. 😊
