A few years ago, I was spending money rather uncontrollably. Finally I realized that I was having a relationship with the money - my husband's money - because he was working a lot and was rarely home. It was an unhealthy way to stay connected to him

I designated February as a no spend month. Other than food, medicine or other essential items not buying anything.

Awesome way to start the week! Love these! I am spending a bit more this month than last but I was doing a personal challenge last month. This month I took budgeted money and had a plan with it to have a little more fun. No regrets. It is harder to spend the money you took the time to save though. It hurts a little.

This is the way I was told how to do the money thing by my father. 1 you need to establish and know your averages. Example...how much is my average light, water, cellphone bill. 2 once you established your averages monthly payment times 12 months. Add all of them up and divide them into their categories. Which is the most expensive and and can it be controlled.

My problem is going out and having drinks. I get bored being at home. $30 a day doesn’t sound like much. But at the end of the month, apart from CC debt, I’m left with the CC. 😢

I use to dropped thousands of dollars every time I go repurchase my lotions. But now in 2023 it pain me to even drop $50 on one lotion. I been having a very toxic relationship with money since I was a teen. I’m now 40 and finally have a wake up call. 😢

I recently purchased a dashcam to enhance security in my car, but I'm paying an extra $40/month for the AT&T hotspot in my car. 😦 Haven't yet mounted the equipment on the car, but thinking about just installing an alarm for a simple deterrent. Insurance/security companies sure know how to use fear to get us to spend money. 🙄

Long story short: Does anyone know side hustles that you can do with little time? They don't have to pay well, just like an extra 200$ a month or something like that. Long story because I can't afford a therapist: This month has been rough. My fiance hat a car crash and will never drive again. Now we need a new car, I have to do an unpaid internship for half a year that will take up all my time, so I can only make minimum wage on weekends, our washing machine is broken and because my fiance won't be able to drive to work anymore, we should consider moving because he now takes like 2 hours each day to get to work. I guess we will get our marriage-certificate for 80 Bucks and just not have a wedding.

Why do you need a therapist? Just out of curiosity
@pinkmuffin9842
@pinkmuffin9842 Год назад
@@MiguelRojas-ye9kc Because the person I want to build a life with has a severe chronic illness and I don't know how to cope with it. I'm scared to leave him alone but I can't have someone to watch him either. I feel a lot of pressure and think talking about it helps, but I don't want to complain to my family and friends too often because then they might think badly of my fiance.

@PinkMuffin it's okay. Just remember to breathe. Take deep breaths and do your best to pull yourself together. I'm 23, and I've been married for a year and a half, so you can choose to follow my advice or not (I won't get mad if you don't). Something that I learned from marriage is that unexpected things can happen, and anxiety attacks can happen anytime. Because I made a commitment to my wife, I'm always there for her, and she's always there for me. This is a time to see if your communication skills are good enough to see if his outlook on life is coming from a place of fear, depression and anxiety, or if he can actually think clearly about the situation and work with you about solving it.

@@MiguelRojas-ye9kc thank you for your input. Things are way better now, still not rosy but we found a way to make things happen. Your advice is helpful, communication and commitment is key, we don't need anything else. Thank you for taking the time to write to a stranger.
