Cloudy water, also known as white water, is caused by air bubbles in the water. It is completely harmless. It usually happens when it is very cold outside because the solubility of air in water increases as water pressure increases and/or water temperature decreases. Learn some science.
So pumped on this. Just tried it with one of the hats i have that looked soooo boxy and it got rid of the points completely. No wrinkles at all and i used a dry wash rag instead of paper towels and it actually stretched out a little bit to a bigger size. Thanks a lot man.
I use a similar method to this (but usually for snap backs) just to lower the crown of the hat. Same idea. I work the high spots slightly to soften them, but instead of wearing the hat until it's dry I stuff a towel inside of it and make it the shape that I'd like. Then let it dry. It's obviously easier with a snap back because it's adjustable so shrinkage is not an issue.
Hey man! Great advice, got my hat to the perfect shape from watching this video.. I didn't however use the paper towels as I felt it might make the hat loose! I just kept my hat on all day until it dried, not entirely comfortable but worth it in the end! Cheers
Hey man Great advice. From using this video my hat is now the perfect shape! I didn't however use the paper towels as I felt it might make my hat too loose. Instead I just kept my hat on for most the day until it dried ..a little uncomfortable but well worth it in the end! Thanks again.
Tried this with a 80% poly/20% wool and did make the whole hat look much more even and cylindrical. It did shrink the size somewhat but that is what I wanted a tighter fit. I did it 2x with the same hat without the paper towels with a nice result.
Savage Troller who the fuck are you? My comment is in reply to dx Wolf I'm not even talking to you. In the case you misread my comment, I suggest you re-read it, it is in agreement to you.
Great method! Obviously this works best with the wool, but I had some success with a poly. I also cut out that mesh inside the crown. I had tried using a heat gun and a screen printing dryer to fit the hat right before with some success, but this is much easier way with less chance of ruining your hat.
Funny. You can find everything on YT. Even the solution of my "problems". By the way, do you know if there is a name for this typical round brim shape of a field cap?
Would you recommend getting a size up for this method? Meaning I am a 7 3/8 but don't want it to shrink to a 7 1/8, would you recommend buying a 7 1/2 just in case?
anyone know if this works if the hats stitching in the back/side of it is pretty jacked up...from the way they folded it...now when i wear it. Its has this awkward bump in the back with the stitching will this work to reduce or fix it??? someone please reply..????
@SchwartzVideo what if you want to shrink the hat and get rid of the crown? would you use your method to shrink the crown and then spray it to shrink it and then wear it without paper towels in?
so i bought a 7 1/4 size hat but i want to get it down to a 7 1/8 -7 if i just wet it and let it dry at the band who many sizes do you think it'll shrink
I got a new stl cards hat and I wear a 7 5/8 but my other two that size fit great and this one for some reason is too big to where the bill is over my eyebrows and loose what could I do to fix that?
Good video dude, it work for me as I'm between sizes. Size 7 is too tight and Size 7 1/8 is too big. So I tried ur method and got it wet with hot wear it wet on my heand unil it dries and now I fits perfectly. Thanks for the helpful vidwo.

why your cap are curved?i love these new era curved cap and don't really the full flat cap that much........... what is the model name pro on-field? performance?49 thirty?
Hey I tried that on a new era cap and since it is using the newer materials. forming it has been an issue. Just out of curiosity why do people leave the stickers on the cap. Is it some sort of fashion statement people are making.
I was a hat wearer in my youth. In the 90s. I am 32 now, and not really into hats anymore. But here lately I have been wanting to get back into them, And the hat of this era is the fitted new era 59/50. Back in my day the hat was Starter. Now Starter is a gerneric brand, Anways my size is 7 1/2. And it fits comfortable. I am not a real fan of the the flat brim, I prefer curved, but I hear that these hats look terrible curved. Im a Miami Dolphins fan, and I got a steal in my local Ross Dress For Less store, the hat which is normally 34.99 was only 7.99. And its official. So I picked it up. But I just cant stand the flat look. Any advice from anyone on how to curve it and not ruin it?
Hi! Really good video. I have two questions: 1) This method works with new MLB hats (100% polyester)? 2) How can I get the same beautiful rounded brim?
