Hell yeah bro!! Always wanted to know how the tohastsu engines work! I know you’ll put it to the test. Could you do an update video like a couples months when you truly get to know the engine more.
Easy work. Very well put. If you don't change those liquids early there's more metal growing through there. Great job so people know how to do it correct nice👍💯💯💯
@@FishingWithSalty thank you for bringing us your Channel.I work in the Florida Keys or in Miami and your channel makes my job go faster. thank you don't stop keep going
@@FishingWithSalty I'm in the Tortugas 10 days a month. My brother go to the banks. The biggest yellow tails you will ever see. Anchor up right there I stay there 7 Days catching yellowtail. Five six pounders
How do you like this motor big man?! And I didn’t think that the Yamaha SHO that you had on there was very old at all, how old was that SHO? You need to do a video like this but show how you do all of your knot tying and how you set up all your rigs! Like an in detail video! But I loved this video because I’m a person who does all the mechanic work on our boat so I get in to these videos fairly easy!!! Great job brother!!!
@@FishingWithSalty were you starting to have problems with that SHO or was it just that time to replace it? 2,200 HRS doesn’t seem like that much but I guess it is in the marine environment? So since you switched manufacturers, did you have to switch your throttle lever binnacle and your engine data screen and all that as well? Do you have fly by wire now with this new engine or is it still a cable for the throttle? I didn’t even know Tohatsu made an engine that big, I thought they were like 115HP and below. But I guess since Honda makes them, Honda makes up to a 250HP right?! I can’t wait for you to make that video about the knots and rigs and all that!! Be well big man and keep up the amazing work!!
@@markmorgan5892 yes blew the powerhead, yamahas warranty department was behind 6-8months so that’s why I switched engines and ya I switched all controls also yes 250 hp
Great informative video hopefully anyone looking finds it! What would you recommend to someone who may be considering looking to get a boat? And what would you tell someone who was considering starting up an inshore fishing charter?
Hey, I just purchased a 60 hp Tohatsu. My dealer and the mechanic told me that after my break-in at the 20 hour service I need to bring in and do a valve adjustment. Is that something you heard was required for the 20 hour service?
No, haven’t heard that however I have heard the smaller engine requirements are a little different than the bigger models but to your question that is the first I’ve heard of that
Yeah the 2019 model put a ton of hours on it and end up blowing powerhead, long story short Yamaha gave me an estimated timeframe of 6 to 8 months to get it back under warranty and to be perfectly honest me being off the water for six or eight months would put me out of business so I had to look into other options but so far I’m actually loving the Tohatsu. After I bought it three weeks later Yamaha told me that they had an unexpected power had come in and were able to fix mine I picked it up and sold it within 15 hours only sold it because I already changed out all of my controls as well for the Tohatsu.

This is not just a normal oil change where you would change out the filter. This is the 20 hour specific not 100 hours so it’s literally only a fluid swap but yes you are correct on the 100 hour normal oil change service you would want to change out the oil filter as well.
