As an offshore fisherman all my life of 70 years and I’m looking at you running at high-speed by yourself and your auto kill switch is not tipped onto your body and you jumping around dancing. I think that’s not a very smart idea but , to each their own
Great video, making this trip in august. I have been watching everything I can find on it. What kind of fuel efficiency did you get and how much fuel did you use? What were the best areas to fish from the fort, south, west, north? Grateful for any nuggets
Hey, hope you have a great safe trip! We used a little over 100 gallons the entire trip I get approximately 3MPG, I would say North was the best but honestly every direction is like jurassic Park. It’s amazing fishing out there. Be sure to bring plenty water & ice.
Again personal choice, not many people go 100 miles offshore on 2 engines let alone one. Of course other things happen, but certain boats are not designed for 100 mile round trips. Yes, a meteor can fall out of the sky and hit your head, but many risks are controllable…. And trust me I have friends who would not run 30 miles in their 20 foot center console, I would.
Just make sure the mahi don’t turn from green to brown in the water.. if that happens the party is over, it’s their way of signaling to the others that something is really wrong..
I can’t believe you have the fuel capacity in that boat to go that distance. Has to be close to 100miles. Past the elbow at that depth. Must take forever to get the fish up. 😂 AMAZING CATCHES. WILD. WORTH IT.
BTW. If you ever need another person. I am 100% down. Love the vibe. ! And since I’ve moved to Florida, I can’t seem to find people that are the same type of crazy as me. LOL. YOU GUYS MAY HAVE ME BEAT LOL 😂 BUT TOTALLY DOWN IF YOU EVER NEED SOMEBODY TO GO AHEAD ON FUEL WHATEVER YOUR BOAT OR MY BOAT I AM DOWN
Man that’s insane what y’all caught!!! I’ve been fishing Bayronto and Charlie’s reef but looking to branch out. Do you have suggestions on how to find new fishing spots?
@@FishingWithSalty That’s a really good burn. I have twin Yamaha 150s. I would definetly be over 100 gallons, hold 150 but would probably have to tote fuel. JUST to be safe. I used to run a little over 100 in NJ to get to the canyon for tuna. We would stay over night on a trip like that. Takes about 4+ hours.
Definitely, but if you’re really concerned about your motor starting, that would be the first to not try a run like that. (If you know what I mean) with that said even with turning off my engine whenever I fish I still put over 2,000 hours per year on my engines 🤦🏻♂️
Life or death.,....only three girls in a boat would say that...Your stupid, you don't know shit about the sea,. Another idiot with a boat talking like your a captain..That was not a storm you looser
I like your teaching style as you fish. Just retired and learning saltwater fishing. Grew up in Plant City, FL. How deep of water are you finding Hogfish in? Any special bottom they like?
Free line fishing for mangrove snappers is absolutely a blast. We get to do it out of Daytona Beach, usually in the beginning of summer. Keep it going. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Adventures. Be safe.
Great day of fishing. Absolutely amazing. That is some quality good eating fish plus lots of fun catching them. Keep the good work. Be safe out there. 😃
This is not just a normal oil change where you would change out the filter. This is the 20 hour specific not 100 hours so it’s literally only a fluid swap but yes you are correct on the 100 hour normal oil change service you would want to change out the oil filter as well.
I went to nursing school in Nashville and lived there for about 10 years, but I’m originally from Fort Lauderdale and moved back here to the West Coast
Nice video, huge gag. I’m sorry I would never go that far offshore with 1 outboard, if breakdown occurred how do you get home? Also, nice to see family dinner with prayer. God bless!!!
Yep, some people are risk takers, not me… again to each his own but I would not go 100 miles out with one engine. 95% would probably agree that type of boat not designed for trips that long. But the reward was fantastic!!!
The Coast Guard just rescued 3 men in a 31’ boat that had 3 engines. Their electrical system went out. Part of being it at sea no matter what boat you have is risky for fatalities. Even more so is driving on US 19 is a much higher fatality rate. These young men seem to be very responsible. They may very well have an Epirb and a buddy system like we use in the Tarpon Springs area. We stay within radio contact of each other keeping handhelds as well as mounted VHF radios. I’ve used single engines for 58 years. My second engine is Sea Tow and I stay in contact with other boaters and my ultimate rescue is not of this planet.
