I really would like a ST but one payment is enough for now (the TriGlide Ultra is required to allow my wife to ride with me(MS and vertigo, long story), so I can’t get rid of it). But I REALLY want one!

Ty, that bike looks fantastic. There are a bunch of ways a person breaks in a new bike and there is a warranty just in case you don't do it right. Be well and be safe my friend.

I mostly just ride it through the gears , shifting a lot keeping the RPMs down for a few hundred miles then increasing the RPMs and streaming it a bit more. The only school of thought I disagree with is the ride it like you stole it. The idea is if it is going to fail it will do it quickly and you can get it fixed I guess.

I'm trying my best to take it easy and follow the H-D procedure on this one. Looking forward to a long ride tomorrow and putting a few hundred miles on the bike. Thank you very much for watching!

I’ve been getting it up to 3500 maybe a tad over for a very brief moment accidentally. I was told 3500 for the first 500 miles so I didn’t do the 3000 for the first 100 but I hope I’m good. WARRANTY!
@TyFromTennessee

Heat cycles break in a motor. Any good engine builder will confirm that. Brand new motors get dyno’d within 5 miles at the redline. The motor company is just covering their butts in case something happens. However, there’s nothing wrong with following the manufacturers method either. I’ve got a 23 SG ST on the way, and I don’t plan on riding it too crazy. I’m not gonna hot rod it just for the sake of hot rodding. I can control myself for 500 miles. 😅

@@TyFromTennessee those bikes are stunning. I can’t wait to see one in person. The anniv SGS was my second choice, partly because I really wanted to get away from the black bikes for awhile. But my other choice was white for the ST, and that color I just can’t do. lol. I’m looking forward seeing your content on the new bike! Love the channel.

Follow your book, and take the advice from Harley-Davidson; people that say no break-in period is necessary are full of crap 04:30 &following. A good break-in period is the difference between a bike at 30,000 miles that uses oil, and one that doesn't. Do you want the motorcycle to be running fine 30 years from now at 80,000 miles, well, break-in by the BOOK!. You'll love your new risers. PS. by the by, I got the Wild One collection (finally) from Harley-Davidson for my Sportster S; looks sharp, feels great ! marcus

So are the motors run from the factory for any length of time or not? When you get a new bike, has the motor been run and if so, how much, from the factory? Does anybody know?

Hi Ty. I need your thoughts. I bought a brand new stock Low Rider ST last week and I’m wondering if the high frequency vibrations above 2000rpm in the pegs are normal. Do they go away with time? Thanks
@TyFromTennessee
@TyFromTennessee 3 месяца назад
Hey there! Congratulations on your new Low Rider ST!! It's such a fantastic motorcycle. I really do love mine. I know what you are talking about and noticed a bit of vibration with my feet too. I quickly changed out the pegs and installed the OG mini floorboards. Here's a link if that is helpful --> bityl.co/F6Yp I won't say that took care of it completely. I think the design of the bikes just shakes a bit more than I'm used to with a bagger, but it's much better now. Thanks for reaching out and have a great day!

Some of those rules are not about breaking in the motorcycle but are there because the manufacturer is trying to watch over the safety of a new rider, or at least one that is new to that motorcycle, breaking in the new customer, I guess, which they might want to think of as a new member of their "family", which about makes me want to puke. However, I believe in breaking it in easy rather than hard. I understand rings need to seat, but bearings take time and putting a load on them is putting a load on them. I do wonder now, about what happens to oil in the engine during a hard brake.

I don't get it.... so in the first 50 miles, when I accídently went over 3000rpm like 4000rpm what will happen? it's petty isn't it? What I have seen is, that on the test bench in the factory they are testing it and rev it highly through all gears

Hey there. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to offer much advice here since I don't do any 2-up riding, BUT I can tell you that the motorcycle is incredible and I'm sure that 2-up riding would be the same on it.
@CodyMcDonald89

@@TyFromTennessee I see you have a street glide cvo if I’m correct. How the room compared to the low rider st. Reason why I wanted to switch is because we don’t ride crazy long trips maybe 200miles if lucky most of time about 100 miles
@TyFromTennessee
@TyFromTennessee 2 года назад
@@CodyMcDonald89 Quite honestly, if all that I was doing was 200 miles in a day the LRST would be my pick. I love my CVO, but just for day rides here and there, the ST is such a great bike. I was even talking to my wife the other night and I told her IF I had to get rid of one of the motorcycles it would probably be the CVO. Yes, the Low Rider ST is just that good of a motorcycle to me.
