Great job on this video. Just got a new custom suit and was awake at night panicking about it not fitting correctly! Appreciate your perspective and availability as a resource.

I found a peanut shaped kids exercise ball 80cm x 40cm that was a perfect shape and size to stretch my suit. Done in 20 minutes. I’d been trying to stretch it for days by wearing increasing numbers and thicknesses of sweatpants and tops inside the suit. Wish I’d seen this video ages ago.

Useful video? 😊 I'm actually a downhill long boarder, but we ride very similar suits, And being able to bend down into a tuck on a fresh suit is going to be the difference between me making some of these chicane's next week!

Thank You Sir, received my first suit yesterday, the waist and legs are good but the chest area a little tight, almost could not pull the zipper up with a little effort I got it up. You are right we do not want a lose fitting suit, It is the perfect fit 😊 Thank You 🙏. Peace Out ✌️

The challenge for me is what size to wear when planning on wearing a Tech Air 5 (or Race) under the suit. To get the chest size right, leaving room for airbag expansion, it always seems to make the suit a little big in the thighs and hips. So question is how much space to add in chest for airbag use that will result in race fit but allow bag to deploy without knocking the wind out of rider (or worse)
@BisonTrackGear
@BisonTrackGear 7 месяцев назад
Alpinestars recommends about 4cm of additional space. Of course, if you're wearing a custom Bison suit you don't need ANY additional space - we make the suit to fit you perfectly AND deploy comfortably!

Haha the inflated exercise ball theory applies to the rest of the suit... Those little soccer balls at like $4.99 at WalMart and they're perfect for the arms and lower legs! Thanks again for the ball idea!

First time suit buyer I felt when I threw my suit on it felt abit loose around the knee is it suppose to be abit tight there or?
@BisonTrackGear
@BisonTrackGear Месяц назад
It should allow you room to bend and crouch, but it shouldn't be loose enough to move the hardshell protection on the suit. The protection should move in the event of a crash.

I just got my suit, and they suggested the size 48 for me. I just felt I couldn’t stand up right without having some back strain. It fits well everywhere except the length. With the suit stretch out vertically in the torso area ? I ordered a size 50 previously, but it was too loose around most areas, so the size 50’is definitely too big. Also, is it normal for it to be very difficult to get in, and out do the suit ? I struggled a lot lol.

What is your height and weight? And what brand suit are you using? With this info I may be able to tell what's going on and whether it will work for you.

@@BisonTrackGear It’s called Shima RS. It’s a premium suit from a polish company. I got it because of the minimalist look it has ( I don’t like all the logos Dainese, and Alpinestars suits have. I had to order the suit from Poland because nobody has them in the states. The tags on the suit indicates size 48 height size in CM is 179-182cm. I’m 170cm so I’m not sure why I felt so constricted the first time I tried it on. The size 50 suit I had was from RST, and was definitely too big.( it was loose everywhere) . I’m 155lbs and the suit fits me great everywhere, except by back felt like it was being pulled down. It is a race suit with a hump back. So I’m not sure if it’s normal to have a little difficulty standing completely straight up with this kind of suit. I ride a 2022 Ducati V2 so I’ll be in a crotched down position while riding anyway. Just wanted to know if it’s normal for a race suit to fit that way.
@BisonTrackGear

@@2wheelife878 I'm not familiar with that brand unfortunately. Each brand has a slightly different fit in their various off-rack sizes. What I can tell you is that you should not feel hunched over when standing. That may indicate a front torso (or even upper leg) length issue, or even a shoulder issue which will hinder your mobility on the bike. Remember if you can't stand comfortably in the suit you probably won't be able to ride comfortably in it either. It sounds like you have a long torso, which means a custom suit or going up a size then altering the excess areas is going to be your best option. You might try a 50 in the current brand to see if it fits any better than the 50 from RST, just so you're apples to apples.

@@BisonTrackGear I tried it on again today, and i definitely stretched it out since it was much easier to put on, and take off. So the fitment seems ok now. My back did feel as forced. I was able to stand up straight, but there was one area where there was still an issue(My crotch)The liner at the bottom split the boys in two. And it looks like I have a vagina. I took the suit off, and relocated the boys so it wasn’t uncomfortable. Is this a normal issue that requires me to wear it more, or is it because it’s 100% too small?
@TheeBlueSkyMedia
@TheeBlueSkyMedia 2 года назад
@@2wheelife878 lol 😂.. I got my new suit it’s alpinestars and they run smaller, it seems like we are the same dimensions. I’m about 6”1’ 220 .. i ordered a 48 and it’s tight and I couldn’t stand too well, after wearing it around the house, sitting in it in my hot CA garage and sweating in it, my new “vagina” went away. Maybe try wearing it around the house or getting on the bike a couple times if u have already done that. If 50 was too big than 48 Is your only other option so maybe it’s just needs some break in.

I would only do it long enough to get the gear saturated and maybe stretch into it. Afterwards, wear and move in it as long as you can - until it's dry if possible.
