How to Break Off the Influence of Shame 

I first discovered Mark on RU-vid almost 2 years ago & have been watching him consistently since. I've bought his books & they have been SO helpful. I find myself rereading them & realizing I'm seeing things I missed before. Its like God does a work in me & heals a layer of my heart & then in due time exposes another layer that needs healing.. I suppose if we had to face it all at one time, we'd be too overwhelmed to do anything. It's easy sometimes to forget where I started & how far I've come. I do know learning to love & accept myself while facing all the shame & pain has been the hardest part. It seems I face myself & learn to accept what I see only to find myself soon after facing another level that was hiding underneath. I suppose I'll be facing new levels & learning how to overcome the rest of my life - so I may as well get use to it 😊 I keep reminding myself that if God who created me loves & accepts me in the midst of all the mess - then who am I not to do the same. I do know there's hope for us all & I'm thankful that Mark is proof that we CAN overcome. I think the biggest thing I'm coming to realize is that my thoughts are not always my own especially if they're filled with fear & shame & condemnation. That's one of the biggest things I've learned from Mark. I guess I always thought that if my thoughts were from the enemy that it would be more obvious but that's simply not true... if they were obvious, then I'd not believe them. Anyway I find myself crying while listening to this teaching- I guess I'm at another level of shame & pain. So.... I may as well buckle up & accept it & remind myself how much God loves me & that because He loves me, I can love me too. THIS is the biggest thing I'm learning from Mark. I pray we all learn to accept God's love more & more and in doing so learn to love & accept ourselves & let this love flow fully back to God & to the people in our lives. I cannot recommend highly enough Mark's book 'God Loves Me & I Love Myself' . Thanks again Mark to you & to Melissa for all you do to help so many. I would not be experiencing the healing I have these past few years without you & your ministry & I know it was an answer to prayer. It's the hand of God in my life & to Him I am grateful! 🙌🥰 I still have a long way to go in this healing journey but I can keep moving forward because I'm loved every single step of the way... Lord help me get this truth deep in my heart! Help us all!

Perfectionism is born out of shame.

We are perfect in the eyes of God if we are born again. His Love can not be earned. The problem is with our soul (mind will and emotions) The Word of God teaches us to train our hearts to think as He thinks. The heart is the heart of the matter. Learning to love and be loved is a process. There are no quick fixes, but healing is available to all who are willing to stick with the process. Rome was not build in a day. Our healing journey will take time and deliberate effort as well.

"God will use people to bless you." That blew my mind. The number of times I have deflected the blessings by saying, "It was God. I am not that smart." I am from now on going to say, "Thank you." because I am not thanking the messenger only, I am thanking the One who is the Sender. Many Wow moments and shaking my head because of the revelations. Thank you. I was in the most self-condemned, terrible place for such a long time. Thank you for letting me remember God’s love and who he truly is. He’s not a condemning God. Satan wants to mess with us so badly! He wants to condemn you and have you believe that it’s God condemning you! He wants you to believe that God hates you now because you did something wrong!! It’s not true! I’m just starting to understand that God isn’t condemning me. I can’t believe I can take this condemnation off myself. For the longest time I held it in my chest because I felt that God was mad at me. It was Satan all along!! God doesn’t ever accuse/point the finger/condemn/hurt/hate/viciously/maliciously destroy/tear you apart. Mark says it perfectly. Thanks Mark.

Mark, you just taught me how to show grace and mercy to those who had hurt me. I was angry over how someone whom I love had treated me and rejected me time and time again, and they literally had no awareness of it, and it's all because of this shame mindset they had growing up. Whoever is reading this comment, please pray for God to melt their heart with His love and release them from bondage.

Thank you for the anointing on your life that breaks yokes and removes filters...a filter of shame was removed when you taught from Roman 7 and 8. Romans 8 is my favorite chapter in the bible but I didn't see deeper or allow it to heal me because of the shame that blinded me. I'll never see the same way again! Part of me almost retracted that statement because I am afraid of failure. But you said there is no failure in the kingdom and because of that I may mess up a few times along the way but it will just be opportunity for deeper learning and the beginning to a new pathway I'll be walking on. Thank you for such practical teaching. It's what the body of Christ needs so desperately right now. I have been searching for it for so long. God bless you and your ministry.

Bro Mike thank you thank you thank you so much. dealing with abandonment in marriage after 4 years has brought me shame. i have replayed and will continue to replay till I get filled with strength to get rid of the depression, shame, anger, numbness, feelings of being a failure, emptiness, setback .

Mark if I go a day without refreshing what you are teaching me, it is a loss. Some of yours words h I replay to take it in again.

So true about preachers causing people to feel separate from God. Then again, I think I'm being triggered. If I didn't have shame, I wouldn't have this struggle.

Very helpful indeed, you won't believe , I've been battling this since high school, and am 47 now, it's all about the fear of the unpardonnalbe sin these shamefaul and profane thoughts against God, and I've been feeling so desperate and fearful , feeling lonely(isolated) thinking am the only one, the worst sinner even worse than the apostle Paul who said he was the worst of al sinners. I don't know how long this reverse journey will take

I was under the impression Roman’s 7 was supposedly written originally in a past tense. Regardless, the principals are still the same and very valuable. The verses you discuss are exactly what helped me break free. They’re freeing concepts, that being free from the law (of death) is actually what allows us to “obey” the law of grace. Security. Security in having an opinion that differed from the authority in the household. The insecurity of knowing I was going to be exiled from a family I didn’t ask to be a part of for just being myself. It’s how I see my Father in heaven because it’s how my relationship with my Earthly father was. I just hide now.

Pastor DeJesus, Thank you so much for your teaching. You've brought so much truth to the public and I praise God for that. I am personally blessed by how you tied Romans 7 and 8 together. I do have a small point that I don't agree with you though, it's on forgiving yourself. We, as sinners, cannot forgive in the way of erasing sins (just like we can forgive others, but not to take away their sins). Only GOD can erase sins. So, when our sins still nag and chew on us, we feel very uncomfortable. But the solution is NOT forgiving myself. One who cannot get over his sins is because he doesn't believe in God's forgiveness. He is believing his own feeling MORE than God's promises. It's a faith issue, not just a feeling of unworthiness. Once we have confessed and repented from our sins, we are clean, period. But sinner often cannot get over that nudging feeling. That's when I would call it, truly TRUSTING GOD, instead of TRUSTING myself. I hope my humble suggestion help. By the way, I have been to seminary for 7 years of my life, got my bachelor and master's degree in theology, and currently serving as a missionary in Asia.

I am a Christian believer why do we always have the need to create a “battle” in order to “breakthrough” why do we always create an enemy isn’t that a form of performance? I’m so done with the church creating an us against them performance mindset. What about acceptance what about the fruit of the spirit.
