All of them do it good if you ask Me. Different movies are going to do it in different ways and you can’t really compare it. Life imitates art, and each “artist” has different styles even if they are doing a different take on a similar concept.🤷🏾‍♀️

I think Deadpool also hits hard because he isn’t just aware of the audience, he straight up talks about behind the scenes information that no character should know about. Like how he’s played by Ryan Renolds, or talking about Marvel, Disney, and Fox, and he is the only Marvel character who’s referred to Stan Lee by name.

In my opinion, She-Hulk doesn't have the sly or quick-wit to pull off 4th wall breaks like Deadpool. Deadpool is such a troll with it, he just keeps cracking jokes. She-Hulk's 4th wall breaks feel like she's vlogging.

Deadpool talks like he's the only character who knows they are in a movie; and he addresses the audience like they are as big a fan of the MCU as he is. Every other character doesn't recognize they are NOT in true reality and the audience does, indeed, love the MCU. He's the best one I've seen. Alternately, She Hulk seems to be doing some "tell don't show," which is commonly frowned upon in storytelling. it's lazy writing.

so in my country there is a show that was known for breaking the fourth wall. It was one of my favorite shows. I remember that the characters have interaction with the producer, the director, every member of the crew. Deadpool is so unpredictable. It's the reason his fourth wall breaks work and why She-Hulks' fourth-wall breaks dont really work. Deadpool is unable to figure out. So his fourth-wall breaks always hit.

It starts off encased in stone, then when it loses its stone armor, it has its eyes closed. Haven't seen Deadpool, but the She-Hulk ones are a prime example of "Tell, dont show", and thus fall flat on their face almost all the time, especially since their attempts at being funny are also countersuccesful.

She-Hulks' 4th wall breaks don't really add anything. They are not funny or we don't care what she's thinking because 1. We already know what the character is thinking or going to think, and 2. The show is not good. Perhaps the tune would be different if the show was actually good and we got invested in the character.

The Warp zone made this point well, Deadpool uses 4th wall breaking as a part of his character. it feels natural which is another thing that 4th wall breaking must do to be done correctly. the best way to tell if it feels natural is simply at the end of the break ask yourself did this serve the fiction in some way. If you can justify why it was there then it can be considered a good use of a 4th wall break. This aplies even to comedy as the comedy is a part of the character still. For example the teching you how to act sick from ferris buler. the scene is both funny but also works to add to the depth of the character. showing how he is cunning and how he has this down to almost a routine. i think why she hulk's 4th wall breaks never quiet landed is because they felt like they contradicted other things that happened in the narative (Kevin being the perfect example).

Shehulk attacks the audience, typically male audience. Deadpool never cuts you down. He's there for laughs and to lighten what would typically be a darker antihero story. It's allowed him to enter the MCU on the fringes.

There is not a debate here.....Deadpool knows how to handle 4th wall breaking, making then cleaver and funny nearly all the time, and when happen makes or sense, fit the characters or is just hillarious.....while She-Hulk, never felt natural, never was funny, and then they go from 4th wall breaking....to literally jumping out of the story and do things that were even less funny.

I thought way to break the 5th wall. Have the character seem like hes talking to the actual audience and then soom out to theater of audience watching the. Then the character tells fictional audience to pass the message down to us.

the main difference about Deadpool's 4th wall breaks is that he's aware of everything outside the movie. Most if not all of the 4th wall breaks we see in movies is a character talking to the audience, but Deadpool is different. He constantly references stuff outside the movie, like pop culture references, Disney buying Fox, etc.

In case for use for fear: there is a very very VERY old movie, one of the first movies ever made, the great train robbery, the end scene is a gunslinger "shooting" the audience in the ending, this movie is more than 100 years old, cant imagine how shocking this was back in the days.

Problem with she hulk is that the actor didnt quite have the aura to pull it off in a good way, also she struggles with being a poor cg character whch for sure doesn't help the intimacy 4th wall breaks. Also the story was lazy in general in she hulk, while deadpool movies are just pure bloody fun

i didn't watch she-hulk, but from the clips i've seen, her fourth wall breaks could be construed as laziness on the writers' part. the #1 rule of writing is "show don't tell" and her fourth wall breaks are LITERALLY TELLING. deadpool's don't overtly tell us anything about him--actually, the fact that he's breaking the fourth wall in the first place is SHOWING us that he's a cheeky character.

I heard a really great insight about fourth wall breaks that I agree with. The fourth wall is invisible allowing you to get immersed in the narrative. It lulls your mind into a state of willing suspension of disbelief. When you break the fourth wall, you draw attention to it and it often pulls you out of that immersion and investment. Ironically, according to this perspective, breaking the fourth wall actually strengthens the fourth wall. It can be great, but it can also detach you from the story and make it less impactful. An interesting thought.

Deadpool is more breaking the fourth wall, while She-Hulk is more Trueman-Show/Documentary fourth wall, she is just aware she is being record but she is still grounded in the MCU, Deadpool is not grounded in the MCU but is aware of the MCU. I'd also like to add Documentary style fourth wall, which is pretty much what the Office is, for they whole premise of the show is they are making a documentary so the reason they look like they are breaking the fourth wall is due to it being an in-production documentary, they don't really break character in the Office.

One more reason why Deadpool works so well in breaking 4th wall or doing anything better than She hulk is also because Ryan Reynolds is naturally so funny. Sense of humor is a big gift and he is like Jim carrey. Their humor works so well because both of them really funny in real life and has a great sense of humor. I know it doesn’t always work like that because there are many great standup comedians but they may not act well in movies 😂 but if you are a pretty decent actor and has a great sense of humor offscreen then it will definitely help.

The Gross fourth wall break in Attack on Titan is one of the best IMO. He talks directly to the audience, telling them that they also want to see cruelty, not breaking eye-contact while ON THE FOURTH WALL.

Deadpool's fourth wall breaks are pretty much always perfect or close to it. From what I've seen of She-Hulk's fourth wall breaks they are almost entirely pointless, generally telling us stuff that we've probably already figured out. That being said though that one fourth wall break you showed on here of her driving and then completely taking her hands off the wheel to lean over and talk to the audience is a hilarious gag.

I think one of the reason why deadpool is good at breaking the 4th wall, is because he literally IS outside the stage now and then. like, in youtube videos that arent necessarily about the canon deadpool, we still see him, but this time the main point is not having a 4th wall in the first place. also the way he delivers the breaks hit spot-on. including going the extra step in the new Wolverine and Deadpool movie (spoiler alert) when at the time-agency place, he literally grabs the camera, sticks the microphone right in front of his mouth, then punches a crack in the screen, just for the camera to switch with no sign of the break ever having happened

Ultimate Spider-Man, the Animated Series, had the best 4-th wall breaks, which I wasn't aware of when I watched it when I was a kid. The Hindi dub of that series was just too good!

In the story I’m currently working on, one of the characters is socially aware they’re fictional (much like deadpool) and references that from time to time. This video was very helpful in explaining how to do it correctly! :]

One of my favorite shows, Mr Robot, breaks the fourth wall by actually adding the audience into the story. Most lonely people think as if they were talking to someone, but there's no one actually there. We, the audience, are that someone, which I think is very clever of the creators to do.

Deadpool's whole gag is that he knows he is a comic book character that some writers makes him do the things he does In the movies he knows too, hell, the first thing he says in the first movie is "can you believe i finally have a movie?"
