Hello Alton, you put out some awesome podcasts. Can you do a podcast on Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog? Thanks

Have Akitas so they’re bit easier to handle if a event occurs like you pointed out preventing it in the first place key and also reading the dog. First time here 👍

Well this guy is definitely going to learn from this experience. He can't know what he didn't know, he was just getting overwhelmed by the situation. Made for a good example and the problematic approach is well explained.

Always have a collar on your dog. This is absolutely necessary to gain control by hand if need be. It's not hard. Grab the collar, twist, and lift. The dog will be forced to choose between letting go or passing out. If it's not YOUR dog or a dog you are unfamiliar with and/or has tendency to redirect you will have to hold the dog until they pass out to avoid them redirecting on you. It's 100x easier to break up dogs with collars than just trying to use their scruff which is designed to have give!

Also, having more than one of the same sex can be a problem. Most people think this problem exists with only males and that's just not true. Females have hormones too and sometimes (not always) getting spayed will help. In this case the fight was over food but i just thought I'd throw that out there too.

But I might add although I could most of the time control the atmosphere with all of my dogs I did have a beloved probably my most favorite dog ever Samsung a white 130 lb American a Scott Johnson mix by the time he was 8 months old if a dog and I live in the country if a dog was caught crossing our property somewhere

His name was Sampson and several times I attempted to stop him he was so powerful he would have them killed before I could stop it he killed at least six coyotes and a full-grown bobcat in his lifetime and countless strays but I have 13 grand children 3 to 23 a big male cat 30 free roam chicken and goat not only did he not ever show aggression toward any of them but displayed great protectiveness over them all of them absolutely the toughest dog I

You’re showing Pit Bull type dogs and therefore a break stick is required - one per dog. He should not have three of them at the same time - I would not own two of them at the same time. That’s reckless and/or ignorant. Break Stick Break Stick Break Stick Break Stick Break Stick If one does not know what a break stick is and how to use it do NOT purchase/accept any of the working “Light Mastiff”/Catch Dogs or Malinau or Dutch Shepherds. Period. **Preach, brother**

@@goodguardiank9workingdog508 I responded prior to watching the video and I remain dogmatic about the knowledge and use of break sticks with the breed. To have one (not to mention MULTIPLE in one home) is asking for it. I’ve been around the breed for over 40 years and it’s inexcusable to not be knowledgeable PRIOR to purchasing the breed. It would save us all a LOT of grief.

@@goodguardiank9workingdog508 No, YOU move on. After watching the video it was just as I suspected and your initial comments proved what I already knew: people who should not have a Bulldog, don’t know sh1t about Bulldogs and have no clue how to break them. I won’t troll for them. You can do that. I’m a realist. Bulldogs and Break Sticks go hand in hand. Pun ALWAYS intended! No knowledgeable dog person would need to watch the video when we see a house full of Bulldogs and no break stick. WTH?! I knew this when I was 12 years old.
