I think the problem is that you know how to get them under control in the beginning. And then it's easier to control the dog afterwards. I have always had dogs who I could teach and control. But the one I adopted a year ago is teachable but looses it when we are outside and is afraid of everything. He lunges. I can't get him under control to let the leash loose.
Awesome video! You remind me here of something that I tell my family is not to challenge my dog over hie ball or whatever it is. Buttibg head's with the Mioose will get you no where. He doesn't understand why youre mad and yelling at him to drop it. Putting pressure on his collar at all times probably does create anxiety I guess I never really thought about it I do understand why trying to pull them back isn't the answer sometimes that's all you can do though is to hang on and at least with mine and he weighs nearly 200 lb, lol. You have to just saddle up and hang on!! Lol
August, hope I got your name right..I have a question for you. I don't always hear you but sometimes, especially if they are extremely aggressive you do this ssssssss sound, sometimes shhhh but mainly that hissing sound. Is that something you learned on your own from your experiences or did someone shoe you? Whatever those sounds you make are they def mean something to the dog. The dog listens to you sometimes immediately or a few seconds later. You have an even higher and louder sssss sound if they are very intense. I also can see how you don't get bit, your arms are just a little bit longer than most other people and your tall and very skinny so that also seems to help u. That's pretty cool, but those sounds you make are special and I'd understand if you can't tell me much or anything at all really. As always I'm enjoying your videos and learning much from you.
That’s me and Rozzy! Such a wonderful experience!! Today, heeled walks for the first time. Welled up with pride for myself and my pup. Will be putting all of this great training to practice & definitely signing up for a group class (with other dogs-yikes) next time you’re out here! The DD team was friendly, professional & supportive. It was terrific to be surrounded by people who want to see you and your dog succeed. Lastly, Augusto could’ve cancelled on us due to the passing of his grandmother and I would’ve understood. He was present and committed the entire time. A true professional, a skilled trainer and helped me really understand Rozzy and his needs! Thank you! ❤
The difference between you and other owners, is that You listened and understood and gave your darling a chance to change. You are obviously a great owner, be proud of both of you.
Fyi the same thing happened to me two months ago. I was walking my brothers black lab when he seen a cat and sprinted towards it and I fell on the pavement and dislocated my shoulder. So I understand 👍
Out of control dogs are no joke. If you have ever been attacked by a dog, especially as a small person, it can be deadly. TOTAL RESPECT for Dog Daddy. God knows how many people he has saved from dog attacks with his dog training. And, also saved dogs from euthanization. Thank You Dog Daddy. ❤️
He said a couple of weaks ago that he had some videos taped waiting to be released..Hopefully he is using those. This is waaaaay to dangerous to do when your mind has left the building... Virtual hugs from Michigan Dog Daddy!
Damn homeboy you just been dogged trained by the dog Daddy don't you know how many tough guys he doesn't train when he walked on the cell block you don't got them all I'm small to big mother f***** call when dog Daddy walks on the cell block everybody you just another victim courtesy the dog Daddy did you think you going to dominate dog Daddy don't you know his f****** record s*** he be making a hit after hit and you just got committed to submit now Neil would be a good boy
Around age 8 or so, I got attacked by a golden retriever. At age 17, on Sunday May 10, 1998, Mother's Day I got attacked by a Rottweiler and it killed my dog. Around age 18 or 19 on 2 paper routes, a Beagle broke its leash and attacked me. But I still love dogs and am comfortable petting and handling them. It took me a long time to get over my PTSD of another dog being around my new dog at that time. Years later I rarely have PTSD of my dog being around other dogs, as well as no longer fearing Rottweilers. Golden Retriever happened on May Day when I took a May basket to my friend's house at that time.
@@apriljames1782 Tell them you don't want to talk about it, it's in the past. You don't have to tell people at all. Not an obligation or required of you to share any personal info about yourself. Or just make it very simple for yourself by only saying one word, "Dogs". And leave it at that. If they don't instantly get it when you only say "dogs", then they just have to stay clueless all on their own. Not your problem because it's actually none of their business until you allow it to be by telling them everything.
I've never read a book so fast! ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU Learning about his dogs and experiences was just the icing on the cake - bed this book through and through. We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.
100%. Sorry, but I can't stand to see owners who almost seem to WANT their dog to be needy and difficult. It's like they want to be needed. She, on the other hand, was there to learn.
What a great pet -owner. Instantly sees what she is doing wrong and takes the advice from Daddy and moves forward to give the dog a more relax life. The world needs more of people like her!
Omg, this tugged on every heartstring I have. What a powerful way to connect with a dog. An old dog trainer years ago taught me these principals and now, years later I’m seeing this young dog trainer use them again with the same success. Thank you so much!
It may seem harsh but people need to realize they have to show there dog they are the leader not them especially taking in a older dog as puppies are easier from the start another thing people don't socialize there dogs with people and that creates a problem
@@ericlaney8893 exactly especially with larger breeds or those considered "dangerous" they're not at all dangerous when trained and properly socialized. I am thankful for DD and the lives of the dogs who would have been put to sleep and the possible would be bite victims too.. it can all be avoided and I believe he deserves all the success in the world because he's saving dogs
Beautiful dog, this was the same kind we had when I grew up as a small child, very protective of family , a wonderful member of our family.Never a problem.thanks for being a blessing to help this lady get the love and peace that her dog needed to live a happy life. What a great testimony , dog daddy does it again, thank you .
I know it's a bit of an exaggeration, but Dog Daddy is really a saint with how he helps these dogs. He literally changes their lives. As a dog lover, I get quite emotional at times watching these dogs transform. It's easy to see, right from the beginning, that this is really a sweet dog. He will get a lot of love in his life that would never have come his way without this intervention. Beautiful.
Dog Daddy, your amazing, and Im so sorry you lost your Mom/Grandma, she raised a incredible person and she still lives in you!!!! Bless your sweet ♥ Child of God!!!
I love Dog Daddy! He is so connected to dogs brains he makes sure he treats the hjmans not to misunderstand their dog not to hurt them not to set them up for failure due to confusing them! He is awesome he sees the good in people!
These explanations were all so clear. Thank you. I don't have an aggressive dog but I rely on your wisdom for training my own dog, especially when walking her on a leash. Things happen fast on the street. I live in Latin America where dogs roam freely, so I must focus on my dog and what we're doing without fail.
I know it's tough to see someone else take control over these aggressive type dogs when they are our pets, but Augusto is one of the best dog trainers I have ever known! He has such a natural ability with them, and the help he offers owners to take control of their dogs is invaluable in some instances. It is up to us owners to follow through,.... but I can't say enough about how genuine I feel Augusto is as a dog trainer. I've seen it personally enough times, and all these videos are just more proof! Great job Augusto!!!
She is a very good owner. She understands her job and how serious it is to keep working with her dog to make him socially acceptable. Obrigada, Dog Daddy.😊
THIS. THIS. THIS. And the Lady is perfect - her emotions on the edge. She is so grateful for the education, the training. Teaching HER to train her own dog and save him from a life of fear. Making me tear up.
This is so full of effective, accurate, valuable information! Great job by the owner for coming to a place of accepting that she and her dog can live a much better quality of life WITH professional help!! No one better than DD to lead them to complete freedom! What a relief it has to be for these dogs to realize they are not responsible for attacking everyone who comes near the owner!!
Most aggressive dogs are put down ,its obvious they are absolutely terrified. They don't know what to do, there person looks just as afraid. It's a nightmare but then .... Watching the dog feel safe, and protected from itself and the outside forces( a dog in progress) its just so sweet I literally cry🥲 . And this time we got to see the person and the dog gain confidence and feel safe. You Doggy Dad are an angel saving lives... A very fly super cute angel.
Doggy Dad may not be saving lives, once a fearful dog, always a fearful dog in new situations. A lot of intensive work with no long term trust. First rule of thumb, don't ever own a fearful dog. A dog owner spent 3k and a year training her dog, it took just moments to maul my arm and cause some permanent damage. Unprovoked, just a new location. I was glad a kid was not around.
@@rootstorising7348 I am so sorry that happened to you. I cannot imagine what kind of trauma someone goes through after being violently attacked. I hope you can forgive me for being insensitive, I didn't know your story. And I think we can agree that there are certainly animals that can't be rehabilitated. I was thinking of all the dogs that save lives ..from therapy dogs, to search and rescue dogs, even police and army dogs that will lay down there life for a person..my post was about the video and enjoying seeing someone who wants to try and help dogs in need. Dog Dad seems responsible in that he trains the person not just the dog...But seriously Noone should have been through what happened to you and for what it's worth. I am so very sorry. Please accept my apology?
@@cherylfox2149 Thank you. Sure, no problem. I agree that dogs are wonderful animals and love them myself. I am concerned when someone like Dog Daddy puts short clips of aggressive dogs being pacified temporarily giving the impression that these fearful animals are curable or manageable. When really those types of dogs are never to be trusted and left unsupervised. Really they are not for the average dog owner, only for very experienced and dedicated responsible owners or trainers. Also most viewers do not realize that there is a metal pronged collar on most of the dogs when he is working on them.
@@rootstorising7348 The prong collar isn't sharp or dangerous, just uncomfortable, and as he explained, it's just a very short tug to correct wrong behaviour, and release as the dog responds straight away, and he always emphasises that the training must continually be reinforced ongoing, although the prong collar is not a permanent feature once the lessons are learned. He has many other longer videos explaining this too; he also works with uncontrollable shelter dogs that would otherwise be euthanised. Althoughthere may be some that can't be helped, I've never known him give up on any dog. And although there are critics, they are not among the people he has helped with their dogs.
Once you say it, it seems so glaringly obvious. I just learn so, so much every video. Thank you for showing us how to make our dogs happy, confident & content. 🙏💜
My sincere condolences, Augusto, on the loss of your Avó....she was a lovely woman, and thanks to her, your gift was recognized and the world now has The Dog Daddy helping distressed animals across the globe.🌹❤🩹🙏🏽
You can’t be lazy with a dog and do what you want . It’s about them …..they are a important family member. You have to treat them like gold and listen and watch their needs , body language is huge I agree . I have a 85 lb 5.5 year old boxer , he can get aggressive with other dogs and some people . I’m still learning and training him lol , thx dog Daddy for your helpful vids
This man is blessed with a real gift, a real talent. Thank you for sharing your gift with many, and helping dog owners learn how to control their dogs, and giving some dogs that were going to be put down for aggression another chance.
He trains dogs like we train horses. The human must always be the Alpha (edited autocorrect of Aloha 😂), but it is NEVER about manhandling. You MUST release and reward positive the moment the horse/dog responds as you want. Clear, calm, quick directives. Frequent rewards reinforcing all the reasons Doggo will WANT to behave and be a good baby. I so love watching this stuff. Bravo, Augusto!!!!! 🔥 💕🤙🏼
Just read in the comments you lost your grandmother, DD. Many of us don't get the opportunity to share our adult life with our grands. Take comfort knowing she recognized how great your mission, talent and works are. That is truly, Such a gift. ~ Sincerest condolences.
It warms my heart to see people actually care about their dog and want to make a difference. Some people just let their dogs be out of control because they think that’s just the way they are. Help ur dog
Amazing instructions to the owner. Most owners quit too soon or get distracted using their phone etc before their dog really has the repetitions in and really has the behavior locked in. It takes lots of consistency and dedication to reliability every time before you can relax the muzzle or prong or your attention. 🎉
Once you understand how a dog thinks it's a lot easier to communicate with them. Once you learn to communicate, is the beginning! The Dog Daddy is amazing!
ABSOLUTELY love your videos .... SOOOO sorry about your Gramma .... (just lost my son a little over 2 monthsago (he was only 35) I've lived alone for 71/2 years and he was always here for me when I needed somebody to talk to or needed help with stuff and he NEVER complained about anything) .... I finally got another dog to have someone to talk to and I love watching your videos to help me train her .... thank you SOOOO very much for your videos (HUGS for you for the loss of your Gramma)
"I want to make him feel safe outside." This lady is a great dog owner. She rose to the occasion, sought help and committed to changing her ways with her dog, all for the dog so her dog would live a better life. Most people just give up on their dog.
Augusto, my condolences regarding your grandmother. Your work amazes me. I love watching the stress melt out of those dogs when you give them direction.
I LOVE these longer videos where he explains things more...it's so helpful, don't get me wrong I love ALL his videos but these longer ones are very special... Love this Guy he's a Dog Master, just like people call someone a Kung fu master... lol
She really cares about him and I got a lump in my throat at the end realizing that she really wants to help him and finally feels hope that she can make his life better now. :') thank you DD
So good to see how you pay attention to his fears and help him navigate through his agression and give him the responsibility..I think he is proud of his achievements 🤗😁
What a great fur baby momma you are !!! You gave your baby a chance to build confidence and feel safe … What a true blessing doggy daddy is to all these poor misunderstood fur babies … Here’s to a better and more fulfilling life ❤🙏🏻
I love to see control being practiced with lil dogs since they don't know any better! All people could use attentive knowledge such as this, amazing work!
Excellent training video ! Good teacher, and she was a good student. Every time I each your videos, I learn so much ! I have a rescue. Thanks to these videos, I now have my dog on the right path.
Wow! I love this long vdeos. I learned so much from u, dog daddy. I have 9 dogs under my care. Some were rescued and neglected. U inspire me so much to take care and love these dogs.
