The house I bought in 2017 had an extremely neglected lawn, so naturally I turned to youtube for help. I'm subbed to at least a dozen lawn care channels. This guy is definitely top 2... No other youtuber is going to explain to the average joe how to create a healthy lawn at a reasonable price. They're all selling their products and promoting methods that most can't afford. They're completely removed from the reality of what most face. Anyway, yeah this tiller gets the job done. I wouldn't use it for any area larger than 200 square feet. I have heavy clay soil and it was able to punch through the initial 3-4 inches of grade. Use it during cooler times like spring/fall.
Thank you thats my goal to show people it doesn't take alot to have a decent lawn. I try to use alot of easy accessible everyday products to prove that. I appreciate the support and glad I could help. Check out this video lol you said you would use this on anything bigger than 200 sq ft 🤦🏾♂️🤣 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N9zmW3g45xc.html
Honestly best mantis tiller tutorial you should rename this to something along the lines of how to use a mantis tiller because this video would have saved me so much pain when i was trying to leaen how to use one
Great video! I wish I had used that before I planted my grass seeds. I had manual tools…. thankfully the area wasn’t too bad. And I raked up all the rocks and twigs before tilling. ❤
So friggin economical i swear before u i had always disregarded the room next to the garden center at home depot 🤭 i remember last time u used this u had a lot of area to cover 😅 that soil looks rich and ready for some action!! thanks for the great explanation per usual cant wait to see the highly anticipated side yard reno #tunedin
That other room (garden center) is for the grown folks 🤣🤣. Thats how you know you grown up when you become interested in and appreciate gardening and landscaping. Its good for the mental also. Thank you tuning in
I highly recommend anyone that has a lawn to get one of those tillers. I bought the Sun Joe tiller and it makes lawn work so easy. I use it on the garden around the house and it's so much faster and easier on the back than using a hoe.
Been using the Mantis tiller for about 30 years. (on my third one) Love the power to weight ratio. The little tiller is a Beast. My only complaint is the design of how the kickstand attaches. After a while the area where it attaches comes apart. I believe mine is held on with a cap and pin.
I have a really rocky soil and I was wondering if one of those would do the trick, I guess it will. I'll just dig out the giant rocks out fo the way first
How did it work? My soil has about a 1-2 inch clay crust on top and fairly soft below that. Problem is there is a TON of softball sized rocks everywhere
I still have another month its still hot hot here... I have one I literally can't remember the brand it was like 160 ish with a cord like a vacuum cleaner lol I'm gonna have to do that in the fall cause I haven't as I said did crap with the lawn. At least got rid of the Bees.
Looks like it's a good tool for that job. I'm in the transition zone just killed off a 50'x50' section of my lawn and will probably throw my seed down 1st week of September. You'll probably need to get a shade seed for that side of the house.
@@LawnAmateur appreciate you and your content... Also liked that you said keep it fun ,I need t remind myself that and just enjoy working in the lawn. It's just grass 😁
I was going to be doing a renovation on my front yard soon. I was think of renting an aerator machine. Would you recommend an aerator or a tiller? I have hard compacted soil and it’s around 1700 sq feet.
It depends on what type of renovation you are doing if you're doing like me and starting the lawn from scratch (bare dirt) I would till it. If you have existing grass and just want to relieve compaction you can aerator and overseed. I did my full yard of almost 2200+ sq feet with this tiller. I bought a cheap but good one on Facebook market place… do you think I can use it to break up dirt where I had bushes removed??? They are starting to grow back
