This video is to help you learn how the make a cup of Darjeeling Tea the correct way.
There are various ways to do this but here in this video we are going to cover two different ways.
A teapot and an infuser. The best way to make the perfect tea is of course, in a teapot.
There are a few things to keep in mind when making loose leaf orthodox tea.
The water temperature is to be about 95 degrees Celsius. Never over boil the water, especially for green tea. The second thing to keep in mind would be the steeping time. The maximum steeping time is to be 5 minutes and never more than that. Actually three to four minutes would be excellent. The third thing would be the amount of tea. Approximately 2 gms to 2.5 gms per cup which comes to about a teaspoon would be the right amount of tea per cup.
In this video this we are going to be using a Darjeeling First Flush and a Darjeeling Second Flush.
The first flush we are going to be making in a teapot and the second flush with an infuser in a cup.
For the teapot we are going to be using the Darjeeling First Flush and we are going to make two cups of the same. We are making two cups in the teapot because we want to show you how to pour it out evenly. So we put around 4 - 4.5 gms or two teaspoons of tea into the pot, pour hot water over it, cover it with lid and let it steep for about 3 - 4 mins. When done the most important thing to remember is to pour it out evenly. You start with pouring some in the first cup about 1/3 of the cup and then immediately move to the second cup and pour into the second cup. Pour full into the second cup and then move back to the first cup and pour the rest. This is done because if you pour it normally like one after another, the last cup will always be much stronger than the first cup. This is because the strongest part of the tea will be at the bottom of the pot with the leaves and will go completely to the last cup.
The infuser makes it very easy to make a single cup of tea. Especially when at the office where teapots may be more of a hassle. You simply put in the required amount of tea in the infuser, put it in a cup or a mug and pour hot water over it. Let it steep for about 3 - 4 mins and then take out the infuser. Your tea ready.
One thing to note is, you may have seen tea tasters tasting tea with swift slurping sounds with the tea in their mouth. What this does is, when you do that, the oxygen that you take in with the slurping and with the tea in your mouth, it oxidises the tea in your mouth and the flavours and palette become much more noticeable. You can do this too and you will notice a difference.
As a special note, we would like to advise you to stay away fro flavoured teas and also teabags. They are not really good for you as they are sprayed with food grade chemicals. However real blended teas are good as they contain real items. Always go for loose leaf tea whether pure or blended.
True tea culture is all about loose leaf tea, drinking it in its purest form.
Link for a wide infuser is as given below. Please note we do not have any affiliate programs with amazon and we are not promoting any goods of the same. Only making it easy for you.

I made the tea as shown in the video and it made my tea taste much better, less bitter and more aromatic. I used to make tea with overly hot water, now I brew it with 95 degree water for 2.5 minutes and it feels perfect. thank you good sir❤

This clears up many questions. I was surprised that darjeeling tea has such a pale colour.

The reason for that is partially because of his preferences though. He added more water to the first flush, that why it’s so much lighter. Also he prefers non boiling water, which weakens the tea. I prefer my tea full flavored and dark as possible. I use boiling water and I stir the tea around for five minutes, then I let it sit for another five minutes. First flush will still be dark if you use less water and hotter water.

Thanks for the video. I would say brewing tea in a specific type of pot or kettle made to synergize with the tea is the most ideal brewing vessel. More often than not, a teapot will only get average results, as it is simply a container. For example, some East Asian cultures make use of a large cast iron kettle and may even brew the tea directly over the fire. I'm sure certain types of Darjeeling could benefit from a specialized brewing method & container to bring out more of the compounds in the tea leaves into the water. And of course, don't forget the quality of water and minerals present in the water contribute greatly to flavor as well. Water choice is the backbone of your tea.

I have so many questions. But thanks so much for this video. Can you make a video on the difference between Assam tea and Darjeeling?
@Safallama86
@Safallama86 3 года назад
Assam tea is known for milk tea coz it has strong Muscatel flavour Which very suitable for milk tea Where Darjeeling tea is best without milk ( liquor tea ) which has very floral aroma with notes of ripes fruit

@darjeelingteadirect3470 4 года назад
Dear Robert, we call it the Autumn Flush and these may not be necessarily darker than the second flush. Although it may be bright amber to even burgundy but not as brisk as the second flush.

I just boil the water and 1.5 tsp tea for a couple minutes, add milk, bring to boil, then simmer for less than a minute.

Don't boil darjeeling tea or any other loose leaf tea variants. CTC tea is the one to boil and especially used for milk tea and masala chai because those tea's are dark and robust in colour and strong in taste. Also avoid tea bags, the tea inside the bag is literally tea dust or the left overs of the teas while teas are manufactured.

People who drink flavored teas are like people who drink cheap whiskeys, they just don’t have any knowledge or experience. I only drink the finest teas and single batch scotches.
