Look how far you've come in terms of brand, business and video production, Marlin. Kudos to your success and keep up the hustle and grind. I've learned a ton from Addicted Fishing.

Great Video. I like to go simple on my salmon bait brine. I use canning salt and distilled water most of the time. If you want to go real fancy, bring home a little of the saltwater your fishing in and substitute that for the distilled water.

That's a pretty good idea!

Hey are you a guide? I am up in Washington and our fishing is shit this year. Me and a couple of my friends are thinking about booking a trip down there. What do you suggest?

Just a thought... Pre-cutting your cut plug Herring will lessen the amount of scent a fresh cut will produce because the cut area is toughened. Then again, if you are injecting your cuts just before fishing with your favorite scent that will help even it up.

I've had good luck with sand shrimp oil added to my brine. It makes them really oily, but it's gotta leave a trail of scent down there.

How far in advance should I begin my brining process? Is this something I can do a week before fishing or best to keep it within 24-48 hrs before fishing?

is there a reason you would pick "Pro-cure" brine over "Pautzke" brine/cure?

No reason really, just what I have always used and done well with.

Make sure you only buy procure, why not make a video on how to mix your own brine. You should be teaching and not pushing products with your forum

Can anyone share if they have had success on using canned store bought sardines for catching salmon?

So now it's about taking knowledge from other great addicts from the live feed, hittin the river and experiment with different recipes. All the while keeping note of the failures and successes. Fishing really is about the adventure and trying new things. Never get complacent. The emotion you get from watching your first bobber drop at a local stock pond to floating a river you've only talked about your whole life is the target. It's about the journey, not the destination.

Make your own - 1 pint DISTILLED water, 1/4 Cup NON IODIZED salt (kosher, rock, whatever), 1 teaspoon Mrs Stewarts liquid blueing. Its a laundry product - 3 or 4 bucks sm bottle at Ace hdwr, 2 rounded tablespoons powdered milk - any grocery store, thats your basic recipe. Split it up once mixed for scent options - I do anise/krill in 1 & bloody tuna in the other. Cheap easy readily available anywhere & customizeable - save your money for the expensive party boats. Once initial ingredients purchased you can make up sm batches anytime for pennies & skip the cost of similar overpriced products.

My brine for over 50 years! Why change when it works? I measure out the ingredients and dump them into a ziploc. Just add water when you are ready to use. I do 5-10 bags at a time.

Buying all that shit when you could just use sea salt 😂
@Broxty
@Broxty 6 лет назад
Completely unnecessary... Using $20 worth of shit on anchovies that you could have thrown some feed store salt on with maybe a drop of bait brite.
