You should be able to shave off a block of height and save some gold for the sweet berry farm by planting the berry bushes on farmland placed on hoppers. Farmland is slightly lower than a full block, so the hoppers can pick up the items through the farmland, and you don't need the hoppers minecart. This does use more iron, but iron is easier than gold to get, especially early game.

For early game, a sweet berry farm is a pretty good option, they may not be the best food but they grow so fast that it'll keep you good on food until you can build a better food farm like the cooked beef farm.

One problem with the cactus design. It is destroying the cactus that is dropping from the one above.

CACTUS FARM Just place 1 sand, surrounding it with hoppers that lead to a double chest, place 1 cactus on sand, 1 fence 1 block above any hopper (so there's an airgap between the hopper and fence post), encase in walls 2-3 blocks high (roof optional and walls just outside the hoppers), it's a little slower but only uses a 5x5x4 area vs the 7x7x13 in this vid.

@HorneyToaster it's slow but ez to make as a "micro" farm that does its thing somewhere near where you spend alot of time (or like to afk at). Main purpose was to show a smaller (more micro) than what was in the vid. There's a ton of larger farms which obviously have higher output 😁

I followed your instructions exactly for an auto sheep shearing Farm but unfortunately for some reason it did not want to work so I kept tinkering with it and changing a few things and it started work but in Bedrock Edition I think it needs to be built a little bit different to get it to function correctly

I'm sorry to say this, but the is a pretty bad cactus farm layout. On the upper two layers, in 50% of the time the cactus that breaks off will land on a cactus below, where you lose the item. When doing a layout, you have to watch out that there are no cacti on any of the for sides below the cactus

-Protip :trapdoors can be climbed just like ladders !- -So you can mix match them or if you already have a wall of trapdoors, climb it directly-

...that prevents them eating it? Nice. I'll incorporate that aspect. The moving carts have got to go though. And I suppose I can do something about how tall it is. ...I'm kinda crab person. My base is subterranean. But it's just basement so... maybe I'll let the fox see sun and that probably keeps them up without a scarecrow. If the chest and view can't fit the 3 block "room size", it's got to be a surface farm that drops the loot chest INTO the room instead. Ooh well. Let's me add AI to swap/disable the farm while chest is full. Probably bonemeal farm, eh?

I built the cowfarm and it was going good for several days but afking at my iron farm which is like 100 blocks away causes them all to despawn. Any thoughts on how to prevent it. I have a lightning rod above it already

Question: I built the cow farm to spec, bred exactly 20 cows, then opened the trap doors so the calves could fall below. It works great for a while. However, after a while, I come back and there is not a single cow in there. All have vanished. Its happened 3 times. I have other farms (chicken, sheep, villagers, etc) in the area and its only the cows this happens to. Its an SMP server, but only my friend and I, and he's just as annoyed because he needs leather as well. Can you think of any reason this would happen?

I had this happen as well, but luckily I was there at the time and saw what happened. for some reason when you have the inner side trap doors open (the ones that allow the babies to go into the lower level) the lava burns up the cows in the top. I think either I placed my trapdoors incorrectly or goofed something with the redstone...

another issue that could cause this is simply not having the farm rendered in, as although the other mobs may not have despawned, the cows could have, maybe try afking at the farm for a few hours

I may have done something wrong on 1.19.3 but according to my experience. Dispensers with water buckets are one use only and irreversible. Did i screw up? Mine dumped the water once and had an empty bucker inside afterward.

You could rename the shulker boxes in an anvil (e.g Cow Cooker Farm) so when you open them then it’ll be displayed at the top. Just a subtle detail but it’ll make it look slightly more professional (:

You don't need that sensor. It's only there to automatically dispense lava, but you have to go to the farm to breed the cows anyway, so you can just place a button on the lava dispenser. As a result, all the red stone circuitry will be unnecessary as well, because you have one button on the water dispenser (to feed the cows) and one button on the lava dispenser - both sending the red stone signal directly.

I really don't understand any of this. I'm very new to minecraft and built exactly the leather/beef farm. Or as exactly as I could. The 3-high towers of trapdoors didn't work, I couldn't place them like that. So I made do with (glass) blocks to trap the offspring. The breeding works, the jumping them up and down with the water and the button works, and killing the cows does seem to work too, but nothing ever goes into my chest.

I don't think the trapdoors will actually block water on bedrock. I have used several different designs for farming that showed trapdoors blocking off water flow and they don't have to get creative and either use pistons to make a dam or uses signs

@@1991etb hey so I think this one has carpet above the berry bushes? I broke the carpet but I still had the foxes eating the berries even tho I kept putting something in their mouth it somehow kept despawning but removing the carpet worked.

I cant figure out or find a tutorial on auto collection eggs from chickens and i can build the minecart system to transfer around. But i cant make the dispensers shoot the eggs at all. Anyone have any help?

If you want the eggs to drop as an item you have to use a dropper not a dispenser. Hope this helps

If it's just to collect them it's very simple and small - similar to Eye designs you need double chest, hopper, hopper cart, a rail and of course chickens. Place chest and hopper like Eye farms. Put a rail on top of the hopper. Put the cart hopper on the rail and block it to not move. Put 3x3x3 block platform on top of the cart. Clear 2 blocks down in the middle from the top. Now just put the chickens in and it's done. Then you can eventually make some delivery system. Personally I built it close and bit higher to my trading post with and additional hopper and chest to fit in. Btw I'm on Bedrock (PS4)
