I've made a similar device but with two little seed holders made from scrap square section rainwater pipe with the the bottom blocked. They're just held in place by a couple of cable ties, Why two seed holders? I like to station sow and mark the rows with quick growing radishes. I draw a drill with my draw hoe then go along the row alternating a pinch of radish with a pinch of carrots or other seed. The radishes come up quickly and mark the row for hoeing but are pulled long before the bunches of carrots are ready. My wife and i are late seventies so the ground is a bit further away than it used to be!
Thank you! Love this idea! I had and idea got a slight modification. I'm gonna have my husband attach a tent stake to the capped end. It will be able stand freely without Filling the end with dirt. In the tougher soil around my home it will help make the holes in the soil too! Sorry I get oddly excited when finding things that will make life a little easier lol.
The plugged and on the bottom needs to be longer than the open and by however much the depth of the sea needs to go that way you can push the plugged-in into make your whole and then just slide the other and over and drop your seed Presto it's under the ground
I wonder, if you made the little spacer arm a bit longer, if you could use it to make the proper depth hole for your seeds? Then just work your way down the row, depressing the next hole each time you drop a seed?
🤣 I thought that sowing seeds was going to be the easiest part of starting a garden, I started 3 10x12 patches, but it turned out to be almost as laborious as the other steps, my back didn’t hurt throughout all the steps until I started seeding; at least now I can seed the other 2 patches without breaking my back lol
Everything has gotten so expensive. I guess I need to remake some of my videos. Also the price of lumber has skyrocketed. Thank you for watching the videos! Welcome to the family.
I wonder what the smallest PVC check valve they sell is... Scale the pipe and valve to the seed and it just might work. Of course you can't have the valve pushed by the planting pipe, if it was then the soil would be blocking the end of the pipe. But with 2 punch pegs one Infront and one behind {in contrast to the single one in the video}.....
