Using 3x2 is very sensible actually; plenty strong and cuts down on bulk.

I’m going to attempt to build this myself, (first built ever) I’d like to make the outside extend longer therefore you can slide a chair in and have legs covered by the top of bar. How would you adjust to make that happen?

I need one in my basement can u build one for me?

So at the 3:20 mark you changed the blocking from 10 1/4 to 2" inches? why ?

Do you use 2 by 5 or 2 by 6
