In this video I will show you how to make A built in bookcase around a window with a window seat that has storage.
I've wanted to make a built in for a while now and when a family member asked me to make a built in bookcase around a window and a bench with storage to use as a reading nook for them i was stoked. this is my first ever built in so i would consider it DIY friendly. I used birch plywood and poplar to make this, gluing screwing and using brad nails to put this thing together. the bench in the middle has 2 doors that open up for you to store stuff and close when you want to sit or lay on it. anyways this was fun to build and i learn a lot from this, cant wait to do another one.

I really like the specificity: "I don't know - it's tall." :)

Great work! I am building some now for our kids play room. Learning from past projects, I remembered to mark out all studs. These look really nice

Any idea on the current cost of this project? We are going to working on a similar project this weekend, but will need to build within the room. Great job. I think drilling some holes to run an extension cord up will be helpful on both sides.

Could you have attached the outlets to the built in? Would have been nice to get one of the outlets with the USB ports then hole saw and trim ring at the top of the bottom cabinets on each side for some media plugs.

Hey Jesus. Quick question, what did you use to spray on the paint? Can you send a link to it? I really want to be able to spray paint without having to buy a compressor or spray cans.

I’m thinking about adding a window seat to my room, how long did this take you to make and install?
@JARMade
@JARMade 3 года назад
I don't remember exactly how long but I would say around 25-28 hours to make from start to finish and like 2 hours to install. it was my first time doing something like this.

Nice job. That side trim though. Ended up janky. Would have been nice to be able to scribe the face frame to the wall, or at least make your trim piece tie in with the baseboards better.

My man, you need to get familiar with voice tracking. After you're done filming, go into a room with low reverberation, and record all the speaking for the entire video. For certain parts where that would be impractical, like your intro, get a lapel mic or even better a directional boom mic aimed at the spot where you'll be speaking. It will dramatically improve the perception of quality and professionalism in your videos, and won't cost you much.
@JARMade
@JARMade 4 года назад
I have a wireless mic but forgot it when I filmed the intro lol
