Thanks Nick I now know how to start my corners when I make my tractor shed! Oh by the way I'm 77 so that will be handy (ps i'm not being funny I didn't know how to do it before). Your a real treasure informing us how to make stuff easy😊.
Oh gosh you two cracking me up at the end😂 But seriously what a huge accomplishment in quick time❤ I really enjoyed the brick laying component especially when Nick explained the corners and how to properly set the second layer so they are covering first layer properly, because he always makes it so easy, and a 61 year old lady thinks she can do this too😊. The huge post had me concerned for one second, because I know you both think out each step to perfection and are so skilled. I loved when Andrea jumped on the tractor and easily moved it, you two are such an amazing team❤❤ So wonderful to see the "Heavy Metal Mistress" tucked into bed😂 What a great video! Congratulations on such great fast work🎉
Thanks for another great video! I love the idea of carving a totem for Muriel's Shed (um, "Muriel's House"? "Muriel's Place"? ... how do you say "Muriel's House" in Portuguese? - that would be nice). Such a marvelous gift deserves splendid accomodations! Lovely of Nick to make sure she was safely tucked in for the night ♥️♥️♥️

i was wandering if the metric system causes confusion to a person that usualy uses imperial and it seems it doesn't. keep it up, stay strong!
Outstanding video , the two of you stay so busy . That’s a well thought out plan for your purpose that went together so quickly . Will you also capture the rain water from the roof as well ? Yes please carve out faces for the pole will give comfort to Muriel for certain , loved the ending . Good to see Andrea driving the digger , she did bring you a cup of tea and lunch . Now back to the water works in progress . Take care and many blessings 💕
Wow how you explained about the blocks cool When you said a post 😂🤣😂🤣 it’s a whole tree 😂🤣 Angela driving the digger wow Next you will be having your wife make a blanket for Muriel 😁 ❤😁
I would call her Miss Batabosch, I would put a blanket on if she was mine hahaha Is she your best birthday prezzie ever ? And are you allowed to put in a foundation like that on a pallet cabin ?
Nick that is hilarious. Today the guys cut a huge telephone pole that was on my property which I had them cut at 9 feet high to keep as the end of my fence. I kept it 9 feet to pain as a totem...LOL LIKE MINDS lol
Amazing job on the new shed! Nick, you're a master of repurposing material, and your glamorous assistant Andrea knows more about construction than most men. To the dismay of my own glamorous assistant, I've begun hording leftover materials from my yard projects for future repurposing. I've been binge watching your channel for a few weeks now, from episode 1. I'm happy to become part of the subscriber community, of not only your channel, but also The Foggies, Dan and Laura, and other neighbors. Looking forward to future episodes. Question regarding permits: which, if any, of your projects require a building permit from the town of Alpedrinha? Steve in NY.
I have to say the totem is incredible. I think it should have arrow signs to all the destinations you can travel for great beer, great pasties or how far away visitors ventured to see you. I think the digger should be called “Sir Cornwall”
I love it to see you are using the excavator so frequent. Because you had to dig by hand all the things you already did with it. The shed became very nice.
Amazing❣ Very much liked this. Again, it flew by. Had my lunch but didn't finish washing up the dishes before you were done 😯. Lovely shelter for Dolly the Digger?... Kiki Kubota?... Poppy Pullyallup?... Tillie Transformer?... that's all i got 🤷🏻♀️. 🤗🥰
Another great video both. I love the instruction and the tools you show that you need. Ingenious ideas using different materials. Best wishes to you both and I love the blue skies you are enjoying still. 🏴
I don't have a name for the Kubota but the shelter definitely has to be totem shelter. If you clip the totem with the Kubota you may have to shelter from the totem! 🤣
Can always count on Nick to 'get 'er done'!! 👏👏👏How about 'Dora' for the excavator? In Portuguese it's called : ESCAVADORA 😅 Nick: that was a funny ending! lol
@manny-perez - My grandmother Bertha would beg to differ... she hated "Big Bertha" ... which added insult to injury after "BVD" (her initials) became the brand name of a gentleman's underwear company... 😂😂😂😭
Ooh! Another commenter suggested the name "Big Red" for the digger - then they would have a Big Red and a Little Red! ♥️ (Although my vote still goes to "Muriel")
Oh how I’m still coming to terms with you having to buy pallets? But great barn/shed/ building that is, and using the Luton box as 1 side of it? Fantastic! The only question I have is would it be worth cutting a couple of pallets in half and putting the walls together brick pattern for a bit more strength? Apart from that great content, great video, great couple! Thank you for sharing it with us Andy, Hastings.
Lovely video! I did not really understand the making of the corner with bricks,, well maybe if it is to be visible, this looks better. But for strength it looks like that the corner will be weakened by all these joints ?? Request: I like numbers,, would it be possible, to share some tips and tricks on how you get good, affordable building materials/tools in the video,,, like we had to cough up €x for each of these pallets,, it's ridiculous bla bla.. this was a kind of cheap build as the roof was only €xx bla bla But I do think I paid to much for the.. bla bla (I like that sort of info) 🙂 I will be celebrating christmas in Portugal this year 🙂 bringing the family, first time ever we will be out...
Get the idea and love the channel. To me there are a number of weaknesses in the design. The main one is the pallet walls, great idea but personally I would have put some intermediate compression dampers, say 150 x 100m or thereabout posts between the pallets. There is also a wind sheer potential issue on the walls, granted the cladding will add some rigidity to the structure but will also bring some preesure to the structure| Some simple ply gussets off the wall onto some additional roof beams would help alleviate that. A narrow reurn on the front of the pallet wall would significantly strengthen the end gable. I fully get it is a quick sun protection cover building, but for a few bob more it would be far more robust. This is not a criticism in any way just a practical observation. The changes could be made post build quite easily.
Nice little shed 😊how about Kevin or Rodney for the digger only because that's what you will call it when it needs to be fixed,Kevin from Kevin and Perry and we'll all know about Rodney 😂
Nick thanx for the block tutorial. Great pallet Idea. Very instructive. I have a caravan arriving on Nov 7 on my property from the UK. I should arrive Dec 15 with a set up RV, a septic system, water pump from river, a small solar array and a platform for the Caravan tent. I can begin immediately to do work on the land. Wish I was there to help you guys with your olive harvest. I am having the same people harvest mine that have done it for years. I am so excited to arrive. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal/Italy Did you buy the digger? I want to get one and a tractor.
The shed looks great. 😊 Question: why don't the pallets need to be cut & placed in a half-bond-style arrangement like the bricks? I especially wonder about the vertical stacking in pallet walls like that: what keeps them from collapsing in the middle & folding up like the covers of a book? (idk if you'll have time to answer this; but, if you do, thank you so much.)
