How to Build a Custom Pergola. 

The Pergola will have 6x6 posts with 16’ 6x8 beams attaching to the house and going 36” past the posts, connected using Simpson outdoor accent collection post base, hangers and tees. Then there will be 2x6's spanning 24’ across the beams. All are rough-cut Douglas fir and came from a local lumber yard. We are using a stain and
sealer on the wood and doing a unique design with how the 2x6 cross pieces intersect with the 6x8 beams. But before I can start building the new Pergola, I need to remove the old patio cover.
