How To Build a HIGH QUALITY Dining Table with LIMITED TOOLS //

I recently got a commission from a local client to build a custom Dining Table top for a set of pre-fabricated steel legs they had previously bought on Etsy. I went to my local lumber supplier and got pre-surfaced 1.75" thick white oak to build everything out of. I spent $350 on materials and only used 3 power tools: The circular saw, Drill/Driver, and Belt Sander. "Nice projects don't require tons of tools." This is something I say all the time... practice what you preach.

I have done some woodworks in the past but this woodwork plan ru-vid.comUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG helps me do much in a far lesser time than i used to do i have already built several projects with this plan and i intend to do many more soon. Thank you so much!

This is exactly what I have been looking for last few days. I am very interested in woodworking and had actually taken a class about it in high school. So far only thing I have done was a hardwood cutting board which I cut from a piece of log using a chain saw. I didn't have any other tools at the time so I hand sanded it. Took a while but I have been using it for last 3 years. Now I have a power drill and a circular saw and wanted to make something a bit more interesting. A smaller version of this table will be a great start. Thanks!

Nice table but I do have one concern. Do those legs allow for wood movement. If not, this table(may take years) will split if the wood is not allowed to expand and contract seasonally. If use use screws smaller than the holes with large flat washers in the legs, this should do the trick. Keep up the good work.

Should you have elongated the holes in the legs so that the wood could expand and contract?
@mass112594
@mass112594 3 года назад
Yes, he definitely should have. Otherwise this table top will be likely to crack/split down the road when expansion/contraction happens. Sweet build though and I always learn something from watching other woodworkers. I built a 40-42” wide solid red oak table top w/ breadboard ends (w/ elongated dowel holes) and it contracted about 1/8” on both sides (1/4” total) - even after the wood had been air dried for 2 years. Fortunately because I elongated the holes there has been no cracking/splitting/separating of the top.

Yeah he shouldn't promote his company like that. He should just spend days working on projects, videoing, editing, purchasing equipment, and then post free videos without any possible way of financial gain for himself. That is the way every successful individual has done it in the past. How dare he do that. I don't care if he promotes his grandma's neighbors yard sale on the channel where he gives me free content. I mean Seriously.

"I did not comment on promotion or advertising in general." But you did. What do you think "promotion and advertising" means? Maybe understanding is not your forté (notice the "é" it is the letter "e" with the accent mark? its called an acute). Well I wasn't specifically referring to you. There are plenty of others like you who are not only critical, but obviously very sensitive also.

The table top process in this video with the dowel jig might be the best way to go about this cheaply too, or you could try just gluing, clamping and putting pocket hole screws on the bottom between each board.
