Thank you for this video!! I've always wanted to model but never knew where to start, this was so informative. As someone who wants to be a fashion and hand model, I struggle to find information and resources on hand modeling. If you have any videos or resources, please link them here, I would love to learn more on how I can get started. Thank you Kamal-Kay❤
Hey Kamla! Thank you so much for your videos. I’m currently building my portfolio. I am a 5’4, petite and 31. I’m not sure exactly what I need but I have a combination of various shots, like serious, smiley, editorial, lingerie, and swimwear. Do you maybe have any thoughts on this? Thank you so much and best wishes to you 🙏🏾💗
Hi there. You are most welcome. To answer your question, that depends not just on your height but also what you look like. Meaning your facial features, your body type. All of this determines which niche you would best fit into. Knowing the niche then allows you to know what images are most ideal for your portfolio and which may be hindering your growth as a model versus helping. It's hard to fully answer this without actually seeing you and seeing your portfolio content. but starting point would be you figuring out your niche based on industry standards and where you would fall into place. p.s I do work with many clients 1:1 where I do a zoom coaching call with them. Then I can see you in person, evaluate your images and fully guide that way. Here is the link if interested. kamlakayconsulting.as.me/
Hello!! 1.Want to know that short height girls can become catalog models?? Mine is 5'2 2. Do petite models come on t.v. or magazines?? 3. The work of petite models are same as print and catalog models?? (Btw congratulations for your marriage☺). So your video right now and got to know about it. Wish u a very happy life!! Love you so much❤
Hiii :) So I want to give modelling as a career a shot and now I'm developing a hard copy modelling portfolio. I took some images primarily for istock sometime ago and I wanted to know if I could include it in my portfolio with the istock watermark or if I should get the original images from the photographer? (Also congratulations on your marriage!)
Thanks so much on the congrats about marriage. To answer your questions, models are NOT allowed to have any images in our portfolios that have watermarks. So you ALWAYS need to make sure that images you take do NOT have watermarks ...or that the photographer agrees BEFORE THE SHOOT to send you non-watermark images after the shoot
Kamla Kay, Thanks Again for your helpful tips, and Congratulations on getting married!!!!!😊 I wish you and your husband ALL the BEST on your new journey of marriage together!!!!! 👰🏿🤵🏿💒💍🔔👫🏿
I know I’m pretty late but how can we tell if we have a more commercial look or fashion/editorial look? just want to know I’m applying for the right agency
Think of it this way. Do you have the strong facial features like the models in vogue magazine (fashion) or is you face more smiley, less tense bone structure (commercial)
Mam, would you please say whether lingerie modeling must or not to get into an agency And will I be informed before any runway, what type of dress I will wear and If I don't like, can I refuse? Please please explain Please explain, Mam
Hello there! I don't have a lot of experience modeling myself, but as far as I know (I might be wrong) - no one will force you to shoot nude or lingerie without your consent (anything else is illegal lol). Regarding fashion shows - it might be a bit more strict, because most models get assigned their looks for the show and if you drop - it might be hard for them to find a replacement. Technically, it's their problem, but you wouldn't want to be known as a problematic model. Again, I'm not talking from experience, just from what I've heard from other models. p.s. on the few fashion shows that I did, I was able to either agree or refuse from modeling for lingerie and swimwear, but those were local fashion shows. Hope this helps! ❤️ 😊
