It's an interesting design but I feel the tenons and the tenon jig are a waste of time. Just use a large diameter dowel that floats in both the upper and lower section. Mortice top and bottom with those nice bits and save a load of fiddling around with a jig. The joints are then formed using the floating large diameter dowel. You could glue the peg into one half if you wanted or leave it free to allow for changes later.

An experienced woodworker sees this and has no problem working out the parts you didn't show. A newbie will probably just give up trying to figure out the parts you didn't show and leave. The experienced guy will not mind seeing some extra steps. The newbie will appreciate seeing it all. And it wouldn't have added much to the runtime to show extras like boring holes for the stretchers and the dowels. And also a bit more assembly. Then there are guys like me who have absolutely no imagination and wished you had shown the finished project with some shoes.🤔🤔

interesting design. however couldnt a hole saw to set the tenon size and a hand saw to saw the perpendicular cut to the hole saw cut be even easier? And no terrifying exposed giant bit twirling needed. 😅

I'm not sure it would be easier or as accurate. All the tenons need to maintain a consistent size and centering/location on the uprights to be interchangeable. I'm not aware of any hole saw capable of cutting cleanly or accurately enough to use in this application. ☹ But I have seen people make tools to things that they shouldn't be able to get them to do...so theres that...😐 All the Best
