My cottage is down a tiny, winding lane and I am constantly having conversations with delivery people. Most are amazingly helpful and are happy to wait while I walk up the lane. We've bought an industrial sack truck. We like you can also drive up. Curry's refuse to deliver anything so we always use small companies who are happy to negotiate and often have way smaller vans.

I have two I lost my big one to the wind a couple of years back, mainly because the roof was too high for me to conveniently tape up over the years without going to get the ladder, I'm hoping to put that one back up this year, this was so informative, really helped me put the job into perspective 🌱🌹

@brucetidwell7715 3 года назад
The best choice is to dig down into the hill, assuming that it doesn't face north. The dirt wall, even a low one, adds insulation. In *really* cold high altitude locations they actually build their greenhouses in pits. Obviously, that is a huge task. The other option is a cinder block retaining wall filled in with dirt. You could split the difference and build a retaining wall half the height you need and then rake the dirt from the excavation into it to fill in.
