Great video, can I ask how do you stop syphoning if the pump went off. Just finished one this morning the bog was empty as turned off the pump to make sure it was okay..if I use a breather pipe does the inlet pipe sit inside it but not all the way down.. sorry for the questions, just trying to get my head around this..thank you
Install a piece of pipe to bottom of bog with right angle going into void area. At top above water level have a t piece to act a siphon. I have a shutoff valve to stop water going back in if I turn of pump for maintenance. This doesn't help with pond failure however. On the rare occasion pond pump fails I don't think its the end of the world if water drains back in. Done it loads of times when forgetting to use valve. Never got any spikes in ammonia or anything.
