I enjoyed watching your video. I have become very interested in building stumperies since I started my woodland garden last year. I have 2 so far and I'm planning for more! So fun....I just really love all the shade plants, especially ferns and caladiums!!

An alternative to hiding the cut ends is to feature them. I imagine logs stood cut-face-up and crowded together like basalt columns. Plant into the voids and set containers on the steps. Intersperse tall orderly islands of clustered columns within a low roiling sea of tangled irregular forms.

Absolutely AWESOME! Thank you! I have a smaller version (much smaller) of 3 trees stumps with drilled holes and growing variety of sedums because the stumpy is in full sun.

I'm just curious since I have problems with carpenter ants and I'm afraid this could attract termites. Any comments on how to deal with these issues?

Do it farther away from the house. But if you have the pests now, adding this won't make the problem worse.

i gave him a unlike, cause it's impossible to find the result of his building of a stumpery he said start to finish, but he didnt plant it... so it wasnt finished. rip off
