Quite fitting, if you ask me, We see it as "generational change" , major city structures were built to last, while simple houses not so much... In the end time passed, people changed and with them - architecture, the houses were falling into disrepair and rebuilt anew... like story/history... Someone can/could explain with less words than me, but we think you can get the idea.
