Nice. I understand wanting to save money by using one pump. But there are definitely benefits to running manifold off a second pump..especially if using Herbie or Bean drain setup.

Great video, it answered a lot of questions I had and provided some useful tips. Do you have an update video or pictures that shows how your equip fits onto the manifold (ie reactors, uv etc)?

should you use ball or gate valve for the manifold? I have 2 ball valves but im buying more soon

Ball valves work best but you want to get good ones. Stay away from the cheap ones at home depo.

I was wondering when your adding multiple T's do you need a stronger pump to keep the flow to your DT strong enough?

A DC pump would be best for this application. That way you can increase the flow if needed. I usually shoot for a pump that is double the flow rate that you need. That way you always have enough extra flow. It can also depends on what you want to run off the manifold. Some things like bio pellets require more flow than say GFO. So keep that all in mind when setting up the manifold and choosing a proper pump.

Yes you do need a stronger return pump. AC pumps with high heads (39 feet)are the most reliable and do not loose flow like low head DCs do, never had one die on my like my DCs have. I'm talking 15+ years 24/7 on iwaki, panworlds Use a valve to the display, they can be dialed back and use less electricity. ie. 290 watt pump will use 200 watts if dialed back.

👍How did you find the ball valves over time? Did that brand get “sticky” over time? I’ve been using Gate valves (with glued-on unions)for ease of precisely controlling flow into the media reactors..But I’d be interested if those worked for you. Cheers

Been using these valves for years and i have never had an issue with them getting sticky. Worse case they can be removed and cleaned if need be.

Cheers. Thanks for the reply. I’ll give them a go sometime then. Awesome
