Thanks for inviting me on to your channel Bo - so excited to share this video! If you have questions or comments leave them down below and I'll do my best to answer them!

Thank you for that video, it answered a lot of my questions about integrating the deluge in a small studio. How easy is it to arrange a song on the deluge? I own a digitone (and a Neutron and 0-Coast) and find the pattern-chaining of the digitone not very comfortable. At the moment I am looking at the squarp pyramid or the deluge as hardware sequencer.
@SynthDad
@SynthDad 3 года назад
@@mosesve1 Deluge is perfect for building songs and then sequencing external gear to play them. The Arranger view is like a linear-view in a DAW that lets you place pieces of your song and lay them out over time. You can then record automation too. Or you can play live and have the Deluge record what you do into the arranger and then go in and manually fix up pieces afterwards

Ηello SynthDad and many thanks for this video. A quick question, let's say you're using the Minilab to improvise with a Deluge built-in synth sound and wanted to change to a Digitone one, mid-song - is that easy to do? I know it's possible with the Digitakt. Again, thanks a lot!

The deluge is such an incredible device, by far the closest experience i've ever had to Ableton Live in a standalone hardware unit. Despite having no screen and being quite deep its one of the most intuitive and simple to program devices. Synth engine isn't incredible but it gets the job done.
@ToyKeeper

Something I don't see often is the Deluge's arranger mode. It seems like it can be used to compose and finish full songs, much like one would do in a DAW. Have you done much of that?
@ToyKeeper
@ToyKeeper 3 года назад
@Snake Plissken The Akai Force has been the top item on my list for a while, since it seems like the closest one can get to Ableton without actually using a computer. Perhaps one of these days I'll actually get one...

Agreed, phantastic sequencer and extremely capable sampler, average synth engine.
@aaroncarter8845
@aaroncarter8845 Год назад
@@ToyKeeper the arranger mode can often end up being more annoying than useful since you always have to start from the beginning of the track, if you're fine tuning something near the end of the track you can't move the play head to the end and just finesse that bit, you have to play again from the beginning.
@ToyKeeper

Awesome tips and video, thanks @SynthDad! Still struggling to set up Deluge with multiple Midi controllers / synths via USB hub. Thanks in advance!

Really well put together video. You briefly mention the Torso T-1. Multiple sequencers being driven with, or by the Deluge is an interesting possibility. Is it possible for Deluge to mutate sequences ? I have been experimenting with the Qu-Bit Bloom, so my mind is thinking along the lines of a "Fractal Sequence". Anyways, this is a very compelling video, thanks for putting this together :)
@SynthDad
@SynthDad 3 года назад
Thanks! The Deluge firmware is always being updated but as of right now it can’t mutate sequences in the modular sense. Of course it has step probability so you can get some randomness. And the next firmware update will add Euclidean sequences too

I've been trying to set up Gate 3 & 4 to the clock and run - to use with a 1010 Bitbox Micro. It's not really clear in the Deluge manual how we do this, so if you have some time, maybe you could just put the paths? If I understand correctly, is it(?): SELECT/Shift > Gate > Out 4 > followed by > TClock > Output > PPQN Thanks in advance.

Thank you both for this video it's been very helpful for me. However There's something I can't really understand: I've been trying to use my Akai APC40 to control both the Deluge and the synths I have connected to the Deluge. Everything goes fine with controlling the Deluge parameters, but I can't map the external synths parameters using the Deluge's midi thru. Also, the APC40 seems to have some sort of pre-mapping for the other synths too, and apparently, I can't put it in a "blank" state. I tried everything and it doesn't work. Any suggestions?
