Hey Luke, I found your channel a few weeks ago and just finished watching ALL of your videos. Love seeing your progression and the tips along the way. I've already used a few of your cheaper paint solutions. Thanks for everything!
I just want to say thank you for this series. It has really inspired me and helped me set my goals. I still have a lot of Space Wolves to finish before I get into big terrain projects, however this is exactly what I had in mind to accomplish. The way you describe every step of this makes it feel very achievable for me and like something I want to keep doing for years to come. Thank you and cheers.
Yeah really enjoyed this series, lots of techniques that come together to form a whole and gives people a better understanding of the entire process. I would love to see a video tackling larger models, like large vehicles or monsters, going through the whole process.
Ive been using Clear resin from a company called Tomps . . . asides from user error on my part i've had good success with it. . . about £12 a liter as i recall. . . it is resin and catalyst though so not as simple as 50 50. Love your stuff man! makes me think sideways about all my projects!
Airfix do great Weathering powders and have also a mixture that adheres to it, making it stiff and hard as can be but can be moved about with water if needed!
Hey dude. Nice video. Like your ideas and how u built up the scenery in general. Subscribed your channel and hope to see more of this stuff the next time. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the great work man. #thumbsup
You get better splatter FX by using a coffee stirrer or tooth pick to flick the bristles. Bit more controlled than a finger. Like mud splash technique on tanks.
Thanks for the video man! Your work is absolutely stunning :) I am building my own killteam board at the moment and I really love the diorama-approach, but I am hesitant about the static layout. How was your playing experience on the board? Does the static layout become "dull" after several games when everyone knows the best spots to hide? Are you missing modularity? I guess I'm just afraid about putting a ton of work into a project which is no longer strategically interesting after playing several games. Love to hear your thoughts!
Cheers for the brand you use on the water effect mate , saves me pestering you again on instagram on what brand you would recommend , great video mate really enjoyed watching all of them and the end result
Dude, those blood splatters look legit. Really adds a nice "splash" of color to the board as well. Have you tried mixing gloss MP and some red ink to make blood pools?
Yup, really like it. You make it look so easy too, very encouraging. Are you not overflowing with finished scenery? I have a feeling a series on flat pack or flexible roll up mat type scenery would do well as many of us face storage issues. Clearly this is a limiter in creativity terms but I had some success using roofing felt as a base, loads of pva and silicone laid on thick and textured. I have my eyes on my loft as a gaming area but the stuff up there is horrendous.
Watching all 5 of these videos has been incredibly great for both learning technique and getting inspiration for my own projects... one question though... how much do you suppose that board weighs?
I thought you missed a trick by not making the smaller pool in to one of your hideous toxic dumps. Some florescent green escaping from the smashed barrel would have added a slash of green. Other than that, it looks great.
This is really great! One problem I'm having though is when I'm using the dab technique all i can see is my elbow and i loos site of the scenery. Any tips?
Love the look of this....I’m going to have a go at my own. Small question - How heavy is it? Just wondering as I would have to store it and need to be able to carry/move it!
armageddon is a hive world which has been constantly been attacked by orks .Outside the hives, there are endless wastelands only broken up by surviving ork camps and destroyed hives from war
Great video series Luke. I did have a feeling you were going to get dust off cast on your resin toxic sludge effects though as soon as I saw the hair dryer. An alternative I now use are those long barreled lighters to start grills with. Just light it before bringing the flame to the resin as the initial ignition can cause debris to float onto your pour site.
Luke so I have a question for you and the community. How do you deal with mold lines and mold misalignment? I literally spent 2 hours last night cleaning the mold lines off 1 Ork and correcting the misalignment of the mold.
Thanks, I't too late to return them (note to self to inspect before doing any work), on the "grunts" it not a big problem, but on my main characters that I try to paint way above tabletop standard it just drives me crazy when I see imperfections. Guess I need to stop being such a perfectionist for non show models..lol
