I've been watching this type of content for women and it has been so helpful over the years, I'm really glad to have found someone I can recommend to my guy friends who have no clue about fashion and how to look presentable and spend money where it is needed.
You can rock black/dark blue denim jeans, plain T and white/black sneakers even if you are broke. Minimalist wardrobe is actually fairly cheap. The only expensive things are usually leathers (boots, jackets) and and stupid shit you buy because you like it at that moment but never really wear it.... like mine 500€ winter jacket that can keep me alive on top of the mount everest... it is really nice, cozy, top quality... do I ever wear it? No.
I have cheaper bracelets that I bought 4-6 years ago and they still look new. Always buy off-brand unless you want to spend extra. Regardless, bracelets are NOT basic wardrobe items. Basic wardrobe items are: black/blue pants/blazers, white shirt, black dress shoes, sneakers, and varied color t-shirts. Anything from ties, to jewelry are NOT "basic" items.
Hey man! I try to wash them as infrequently as possible. Basically, I only wash them if I have to. Try leaving them in the freezer for a night to get rid of any bacteria / smells :)
Or you can take your time and buy a piece at a time. I just picked up a pair of great dress Madden dress boots for $30.00 at a secondary retailer. It takes more work but it can be done.
I needed this. i just bought stuff i liked over the years or thought i might need. Obviously I've got rid of stuff and bought new stuff over but i feel like i really need to redo my wardrobe sometime. This will really help me and maybe stop me buying stuff randomly
Super helpful, thanks for the tips. I'm starting a new office job Monday and when I went in for my interview I saw how clean everybody looked. I'm gonna grab some of the basics this weekend and build my wardrobe over time.
I have been searching Alex for so long and because of this pandemic I found you... And I looked out to your all videos and i watched it like 3-4 videos everyday and i have been enjoying like the recent videos 💌
This man has spoken such solid facts throughout this video, it’s unreal. Quick note, make sure to stay fitted my friends. Almost anything will look good on you if the fit is right. Not tight, but fitted 👌🏾
I just started binge watching your videos these past 2-3 days. I was curious to know if you would ever do a video for different body shape guys and what works best for each body type? I'm in the middle of trying to lose weight to step up my wardrobe game. Thanks for all the info Alex!
Great vid, I’m new to the fashion game and I’m learning as I go. How do you keep your clothes washed, cleaned and smelling good. Not sure if you’ve done a vid on this yet but can you maybe do one on that topic? That would help me out a lot.
I appreciate the practicality of your style, Alex. Even though you live in LA where you can wear anything, your suggestions are workable for small town America too. Thanks, man!
Hey Alex just wondering, I have been growing my hair out recently and really like your style. What do you ask your barber/hairdresser for when you get a trim ?
Don't know if they sell a lot of Scandinavian brands in the U.S., but you can make a fine wardrobe with those brands like, Minimum, Selected Hommes. Also Cast Iron shirts are very nice and high quality like Vanguard. Esprit has a lot of affordable and quality products too.
Awesome video ! I really like how you explain your topics in a clear and calm way. I think Im well on my way to having a good basic wardrobe, the video verified it. Keep up the good work.
Alex Costa All the time in the world. Travel all over the world for work, makes it fun to pick up items locally. Thnx for replying, have a great sunday !
half the clothes he had were from zara, it doesnt get much cheaper than that. unless you're shopping for outdated clothing at a flea market lmfao. Besides those bracelets, you can spend close to that on some nice rings or even Stirling silver chains for under $150, heck even under $100 for a nice thin chain. The bracelets are cheap shit from china.
I used to watch all the videos of fashion and stuff but I feel like the fashion that you show is more for professionals who work in a bank or something. When I go search for Paris fashion week that is totally different than what you suggest. And tbh after looking at those designs and stuff, I feel the stuff that you show is kinda just for one category of people lol
Yeah man, I agree that classic pieces are crucial...and I just love about your style that you rock black, white, gray and blue color, not brown like lots people ;-) 👌
Would go dark denim insted of black (pale skin), but this video should be kind of manditory for young guys. Lot of good advice, with a new modern take on it that works in real life. Thanks.
Gotta have a nice watch too. Check out Orient for low price, stylish and quality pieces. Automatic movements so very cool and you're not paying for the brand like DW, MMVT etc
Hey Alex, you have knowledge about this subject, and that's great! I've been watching different channels about men's wardrobe and style.I am not insulting you, you should get in touch with these famous people such as Aaron Marino (AlphaM), RMRS...etc. So that, you could grow more and improve your career. Goodluck! Thanks for the tips.
1. Check 2. Check 3. Accessories, by next year I'll get a necklace. 4. I guess by knit he means some type of wool material. 5. Check 6. Check 7. Check 8. Check 9. Nope. Don't know when I'll purchase one. 10. Definitely will get a blazer and or sports jacket in the fall. Along with a suit.
Hi brother love from India, now it's been a while since m following you, the clothes and accessories everything you suggest are really good but m not sure if same things are applicable for Indian weather and conditions.
Man! I mean who are you 'a celebrity or common man' what ever you are just we are with you and make sure that your videos coming fast and fast for us. Go ahead 👍👍😀😀😉
Oh Indians here. I think he should to some videos for india too. Few things which he's talking about doesn't fit india at all. I'm from south india, if very hot here, shoes are hard to wear in summer.
YES Alex! These types of videos are so much more interesting and captivating compared to your mens outfit inspiration ones. Speaking to the viewers down the camera is definitely the way forward! Thank you for this content. P.s. your Instagram is also goals
I really like these types of videos but I would love to see you actually give us quick fire visual examples of the different looks you can make with these items. Like the same pants with five different looks and the same shirt with five different looks. Just so we know how to mix and match some things
Hey Alex, my name is Declan Shaffer and I have been watching your videos for a while and have to say that you have helped me out a lot. Anyway, I have some fat on my face and I'm not sure if my face is Round, Square, or Oval. Should I lose body fat and weight to figure out what my face shape is? Let me know Alex and Thanks!!
I know it's been a year but I would give this bit of advice to anyone. Dress for how you look now. It's all good losing weight and all that and I advise it but you still need to wear clothes until then. Get a few outfits which you can mix and match together so you have options. That way you look stylish now and then when you lose weight buy a couple outfits again until you get to where you want to be. I made the mistake when I started going to the gym, docked out my wardrobe with larger clothes without thinking how long it would take to get there. This isn't meant to sound nasty if it does. Good luck and I hope you've done well 🤙
If you don't mind me asking. What do you do for a living (other than RU-vid) when did you start finding your style? and lastly, who or what did you learn it from? they obviously have good taste
Blacks Jeans are great for waiters and valets....Ditch the black jeans and if you insist, never with a white tee shirt. Accessorizing ? A great understated watch is all you need. When it comes to men's fashion, less is more.
