If you enter amazon through my link amzn.to/3lhFqKz I get payed a small percentage of whatever you spend there. It doesn't cost you any more and I don't know what you've bought. Many thanks to those that do use my link. its greatly appreciated.
My son's starting to camp on his own now. He's buying alot of small gear but wants to get his own, "not use Dad's stuff" anymore. That's cool...I get it!! This stove here is awesome...he'd love it!! A father and son project...but....let him do it. It's better that way for him, and will be a great "useable" memory made.
Over the years I have experimented with larger and smaller holes. More or fewer holes. Higher and lower holes. This combination of hole size, amount, spacing and elevation from the bottom was arrived at through many stoves and much tinkering. Try it! It was fun to figure out what worked best for me. You may find a different or better way of building one and I’m sure you’ll have fun if you’re a tinkerer like me.
Question. The stove you made with the fan, Did you happen to measure the heat it was making? Just thinking if it could have melted aluminum? Love the Vid and Thank you and yours😇🖒
A real nice thing, you built! Maybe I will try to copy as a back up, for the coming black outs! 😜👍 I agree, you were scared for your last blade! 🤣 but things like that I would cut with an angel grinder! At first with a lot of edges! Later you can smooth it by the same grinder, or by sander! Greets from Germany!
Thats the best looking gasafire stove Ive seen. Thanks for the vid. A stove like that could save a lot of lives in third world countries, where they suffer from respatory disease from cooking on wood fires inside their houses.
That is the best looking design, I have seen for these gasification stoves. I am sure you won your competition...I am going to build one like it...thanks for your video...
Very nice! I hope you won. Lots of people run on about the math of the stove against hole sizes and so on, but this is all you need to no. Thanks, enjoyed watching
In stead of using the sewing tape measure, you can wrap some masking tape around the can, then take it off and mark yourpilot holes, then put the tape back on the can for drilling or marking.
As I’ve said a couple dozen times, this was a gift. I have a dozen or so videos in the playlist that this video is in, of me cooking on the stoves I make.
Lovely piece of work mate... sorry to hear about those duds that stood you up. I would buy one off you but the freight would kill me to Australia. All the best.
That's a very handsome unit...I'm talking about the stove Brad. But your not bad either. lol I think you have a winner right there. That stove I won from you is still kicking butt! love it.
Thanks ! I've made a couple that work great and bought a couple that work great but honestly I feel compelled to make one of your design . Looking forward to having my first Cadillac ;)
Love Your Stove. I just started making these type of stoves . Mountain Ranger, Solo , even my own Gasifier Rocket Stove. I would really love your build instructions, I would buy one, REALLY. But building instructions would be fine . Thanks , Keep Up The Awesome Work.
Yes, it is disappointing. If we estimate the price at about $15 for the cans, $20 for an hours work, and $10 for shipping, that should be around $45 each. Or with screws and bolts call it an even $50. If he charged significantly more than that, he gets dangerously close to retail prices for other wood gas stoves.
Don't you know brother what you have done by making these units ? You have helped the People of the Lord such as your own self because Jesus our Christ is good , your Christ , so don't be discouraged for I though only One out of many really do appreciate you by what you have taught me so that I and my family may be able to eat if we as a Nation lose our power by the grid going down. So again I thank you very much. Look up for the Lord our God is coming . God bless you and hope your Christmas is Merry. PEACE.
@William lannyucci Please don't hold your breath until your Lord god comes. Fools have been waiting for thousands of years for their gods to keep their promises. They never do. It's time people wake up to reality?
I have had some success with high carbon steel bits to start a hole but drilling A 2 1/8 hole for a standard lock set is rough lol love your vids sir thanks
I love the idea of the middle screw to fit all together, well done. maybe you try my way for the leg bolts and i Use the middle screw and stop weld it :) . I Use 4 extra nuts and turn the bolts the other way, so I have nice round legs on my table. greatings from Germany
Thank you for your response, I thought you might have some left over from the batch you said you made for selling to those that previously requested some. Again, thank you. Have a great day.
Great stove, nice simple design. Do yourself a favour though, get a centre drill for this holes, it's much easier, no more busted small drills and the right size will probably do all your smaller holes in one on the pillar drill , they're dirt cheap
Leonardo Corigliano I have a playlist of me cooking on woodgas stoves. This was a gift. That's why I didn't cook on it. In my woodgas playlist, there are several videos of me cooking on one just like this.
Have you ever seen a "Revolutionary War era Brazier stove?" I saw one of these once and thought it was an interesting way to cook for one person. The only difference is that thing I believe can be used as a grill. Your small stove looks like it might also work as a grill if you mounted some sort of grill to it. I came across some people who told me about a restaurant that served meets on something like this and started to research these type of cookers. You should look at the revolutionary war era brazier stove. you might find it interesting.
Pretty nice stove. So tell me more about that cone shaped bit you drilled the big holes with. Is it for metal only? Come in other sizes? More info please.
I'm not sure what it's " technical" name is but I call it a stepped bit. It's very common and can be had from ace, harbor freight,Amazon. I've only drilled steel with it but I don't see why it wouldn't drill wood.
I am into doing one myself. The only doubt is the holes in burner: bottom circle or same bottom but in the corner, so the ash does not bother. A holed column is another solution. Thank you.
That's a really nice looking stove. I may give that a try. BTW if you have any left you probably could sell them on Amazon pretty fast. Would have to set up a store there I guess. I'll check out your other videos cooking on these.
ever try the holes on the top of the inner can down from the rim a little more? Wonder how that'd be. My thinking, which is very often far from reality, makes me wonder if the flame, combustion, gasification down a little lower would work fine too, and keep the flame down in the box just a bit? Would that reduce the effectiveness? I live in a high fire danger area, and like to keep the flames down in there a bit more,. and be careful in the first place, as well.... any way, wonder what effect a lower top hole be? Love to hear your thoughts./... thanks, great build!
Great. I like watching you. Its like watching a Learn how to for beginers. Like myself always interesteed on how things work. Most college courses here in the UK on hardware are quite expensive. So you help quite a bit. Eaten any out of date tins lately brad. :)
Is this really a rocket stove? Does that burn fire wood efficiently? I have some steel meal box which my mom used to prepare launch for me. I'd like to make some stove for camp. Sir, you inspired me a lot.
This isnt a rocket stove. It works on the same gasification principal but it is fed from the top where a rocket stove is fed from the side. It burns the wood equally as good as a rocket stove though.
If I may ask, off topic, what camera are using that has a remote, I like and want to get. Now on topic, I think may try this....cool stuff or is that hot stuff
