Hey, Bob. Recent sub here. I thought I detected a Philly accent. It's faint but every once in a while I hear it. I grew up in South Philly and now live in New Jersey, not too far from McGuire AFB. Was a top 40 WFIL kid that moved over to FM in the mid 70s. WMMR, WYSP and WIOQ were my introduction to heavier and cooler rock. I am a vinyl junkie and an audiophile in denial. I swear I can resist the temptation of gear acquisition at any time, only to be plopping down more cash for the latest gadget to improve the sound. I too want the better pressings. I have purchased some 45 rpm pressings from Analog Productions that aren't too expensive. I only have one UHQR so far, (Aja) and love it. I will definitely purchase some of those Rhino pressings in the near future. I am liking the channel. You have the right blend of fast paced info and humor. Keep up the strong work and good luck with the channel.
I may have mentioned I spent 8 years in Jersey as a kid. My origin story goes back to upstate NY. I listened to a lot of Philly radio... Mr. Jerry Blavatt!
Not into vinyl, but thank you for sharing your passion and spreading the word. I hope you get the views you deserve and more subscribers that will enjoy the vinyl side of music. Thanks for your time and efforts to share this with us all. Take care, my friend.
Damit Bob. You going to make me go after T.T. or something to listen to the stuff that don't get played top 40 that's be known to most listen ers. Going surfing for the good rock that I bought real cheap back in the days. I am 63 . the 60 70 s n80s was some good stuff. A lot of breakups but a lot of musians carved their own way after. Love your show . peace out .🎉❤
Rhino fan since the newsprint mail order catalogs in college in the 80s. I pick up anything I see local on cd or vinyl from them guys. Thanks a lot for reminding me of another way to spend my vinyl bucks! There’s a Devo box set calling my name…
Great show - the bees knees! Wish you could /would do a show just on high-res record labels like Mo-Fi, Rhino, and tbe others. How many are out there? Who are they? What do they specialize in? Price range? Overall value? Music selection? Etc. A show like that would be, a real neato-mosquito. 😂
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog I have an Otari MX 5050 Bll and a Pioneer RT-1020L…both built like tanks. Love the tape sound too…even though it’s a pain to use and even tougher to maintain.
I bought my last vinyl in 1985 when my wife surprised me with a CD player on my birthday but I enjoyed hearing you talk about it. I have Rhino issued DVDs of MST3K and the Alan Sherman box set. Talk about obscure! I do own every Doors remastered CD.
I would get back into LP's but i just dont have the room to start another physical media collection. I've got a DVD collection that is its own monster, lol. But this was a very interesting video. Great work.
Found you through Randy Cheap Audio Man. Great vids keep up the great work! Deluxe vegan vinyl LOL! I remember that Rhino record store! It was on Westwood Blvd. A block north of Santa Monica Blvd.
Got The Cars release from Rhino and it's better than the MoFi I have, also got a new Rhino Dire Straits Love Over Gold and the first side has a LOT of static, the second side is fantastic. So have mixed results from them.
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog I'm going to get the MoFi 45rpm 2 LP copy, I know it will be quite vinyl and sound good (I've bought a few original copies, but haven't been happy with the condition).
Vinyl should stay in the past where it belongs. 40 bucks for what I can get for my monthly streaming service at a drop of a hat? You’ve been duped my friend. But that’s what audiophiles do
