This video is for all you people that wants to build your own in ear monitor system for your band.
After playing live and also in the rehearsal space and getting shitty sounds because of a lot of reason I decided to build a closed, wireless in ear system for my band Psyckadeli. I have seen other people do it and I wanted to try and build it on a smaller budget that they have done it with. so this is the component that I have used...
Mixer: mixer.rcf.it/m-...
Splitter: www.musictri.b...
Wireless: www.ld-systems...
Do you want to build a closed wireless
in your system for your band then stick
around and watch this video because I am
going to show you how to do it hi I'm
max haze from the band Psyckadeli and
today I am going to show you my new
creation this is the closed Wireless in
your system that I am going to use with
my band so because you found this video
you probably already know what a closed
Wireless in your system it but if you
don't know here's the quick explanation
the inner system is something that you
will put before the stage box when
you're out playing we're back so
basically what this means is that if you
have a wire coming from a microphone
this microphone will normally go
straight to the stage box but in this
case you will plug it into the XLR
splitter down will split it so it will
go straight to the stage box but also
would go to this digital mixing board
that we used to here in our in-ear
systems so all you need to do is to
split up the signal and have the front
house have its signal and the other
signal goes to the digital mixer with
that said let's continue to the
components of this system first off we
have two XLR splitters basically just
because these have eight channels and we
needed 16 yeah whatever
the most affordable XLR splitters that I
found on market it's the barring the one
I mean it's not rocket science it's just
going to split the cable into so why pay
a lot of money for this and you also
need two of these so it's gonna cost you
a lot of money but the bearing error was
a very affordable price and from the
splitter it goes to the front of house
sticks box and I'm for that I'm just
gonna use one of these cables that just
brings 8 X large to
eight other excel arts the second excel
our signals goes to the RCAF digital
mixer m80 this is really affordable
mixer and you do get a lot of stuff for
this money because you control
everything on an iPad and also although
the band members can have their own
listening in there in air monitors the
good thing is that if you use the
auxiliary outputs on the digital mixer
to hook up the in-ear monitors you can
actually use just a normal phone and set
your own levels within the band also
really good thing with a digital mixer
is that you have all the effects that
you might need to blend in with using
this system so it's really affordable
way to get everything the way you want
the big advantage is that no matter
wherever you're playing you're always
going to be hearing this same thing and
the same mix that you did when you were
in the rehearsal room after playing in
all these venues getting different
sounds every time when I played I really
embraced this system and what it could
do for our band so what I do now is I
used you axillary output and also the
headphones output to hook it up to the
wireless system if you want to know more
on how to use the RCF m18 as a digital
in your mixer then you can check out
another video that i've done with about
this that i would link in the end of
this video so the units to make this
whole system Wireless is the LD
transmitters and receivers this LD
version is not the most expensive one
and it's not the most cheapest one and
you're able to change frequencies which
you can have a lot of use for when
you're using more than one system I had
some troubles when I was hooking this up
and I actually made a video about how to
set it up and guess what I'm gonna link
that in the end of this video as well so
the only component that is left in this
it's the power source that I have up
here it's a really cheap power source
but it was the most convenient one
because I could hook up the power source
coming from the transmitter directly to
the power station I did hook up the
whole system in this rack case because
we had that rat case and also if it
looks so cool but you could actually
make it more convenient because if you
have these transmitters on one platform
you will just have two rack spaces for
those so you would have two Rackspace's
ferrara the XLR splitters two rack
spaces for the transmitters and then two
rack spaces for D digital mixer so if
you have a six unit rack space you can
put all these in what in the

Great an very informative Vid. Considering building an EIM system too. Have one question in that regard. How do you go about the drums? Do you hook all the microphones for them up to the system as well? Not to mention in a live situation with several bands to go on the same stage like in a festival situation? Cheers..

Torben Nielsen nice to hear that you like the video. We trigger the drums and run two cabels from the drum module to the mixer...

Great video, I'm interested in setting up an IEM system and you have explained the process very clearly and also opened up some alternative options in terms of gear. 2 quick question on the RCF. 1. If you were playing live can you get a recording of the mix onto USB device. 2. In rehearsals I use a boss Me 80. Is it possible to bypass an amp and just line in the guitars and di in the bass without the need for amps? Cheers dude

Gary Jackson I would say Yes to both your questions. Look into the manual to see how to do it...

Hi , I am kind of interested to buy rcf m18 .i just wanna know 1 thing . Is it those 6 auxout are sterio? Can it be used direct to ear phones as in ear monitors ( with out buying any extra headphone amp unit ) And another question there is a Ethernet port can we control this with pc software ?

Hey dude how did you set up your mixer to 19"rack? i currently try to make similar system to yours and i was looking forward to the same digital mixer as you have, however i saw that it doesn't have rack mount. How did you connect it to the rack so that it works well?

Great video! I have a question though. I just bought this unit but the main issue is that I can't seem to be able to save any of my settings. Every time I reconnect with my device, all faders go back to 0 and all the bandmembers' names just go away. Did you have the same issue as me? Thanks in advance.

What's the reliability on this system as regards to drop outs on the receivers and do you just run a trash mic for the drums and rig up your drummer with a wired connection
@PsyckadeliTV
@PsyckadeliTV 4 года назад
ItsCiarian we just did a tour with this system. It was great. No real dropouts. A few times a worse signal but still okey. But no dropouts. We are using trigmics on the drums. They go to a drum module. We ended up using that to the front of the house. The drummer use the same inear system...

Great Video! As I am builing an IEM myself, I ran into a problem en maybe you could help me. With the Behringer Splitter the Isolated out had some hum, meanwhile the direct out does not. It is not a ground based hum i think, but i am not sure.. Did you ran into the same problem and did you fix it one way or another?

Hi Do you think I could use this type of system as my main system to even run front house speakers ? Looking at something portable for church. And is it free to have all band members mix their own ears or do you have to pay a subscription through the app ? Thanks.

RexyFan I guess this would be great for you. You can use the main out to the front speakers. No you don`t need to pay for the app. You can either use the app on an ipad or a cell phone. Just download it frim the app store...

Psyckadeli TV oh awesome ! So my band members can download the same app and mix their own ears ? If so, I’d definitely be leaning this way :) I only ask cos I remember watching a video where you have to pay around $99 for each person to be able to use the app to mix their own ears, but I’m glad this is free :) Thank you 🙏 😊

Hi, great rig! How do you connect your mixer to your MS8000 splitters and back? would love to know how that's all connected. Thanks!
@PsyckadeliTV
@PsyckadeliTV 6 лет назад
Well I just use normal XLR cables from the MS8000 to the mixer. The signal never goes back to the MS8000 because this is what we listen to. The MS8000 splits the signal and one signal goes to front of the house and the other goes to the M18 mixer. Please let me know if you have any more questions...
@Bamibakker
@Bamibakker 6 лет назад
So the first 4 on your MS8000 are labeled your band members I guess. How do you use those channels then? What plugs into the front and what in the back? the signal going to the mixer from the back, is that the input in the front for your in ears? Not sure if I completely understand
@PsyckadeliTV
@PsyckadeliTV 6 лет назад
Bamibakker the first four channels is the vocalmics for the band. On the back these channels goes to the stage box that goes to the mixer that is in front of the house. But also to the mixer that we have in the rack that we listen to...
@PsyckadeliTV
@PsyckadeliTV 6 лет назад
Bamibakker the Aux outputs from the rack mixer is what is being sent to the in ears. So every person in the band can mix their own in ear listening in the rack mix and that would be sent to the in ear headphones. Watch the video that I have made about the M18 then I think you will understand a little bit more. There is a link to it in the end of this video...
