Number 2 is the reason I took the back squat specifically out of my program. It definitely helped with muscle gain and at work but gets tiring in your 30's

that's why there are good alternatives. try the hip belt squat if your gym has it.

Agreed. I rarely back squat. The pattern of squatting is way more important than the position of the bar.

Other good barbell back squat alternatives are hip belt squats and front squats. If not having the best mobility you can use wrist wraps.

Love them. Also a huge fan of goblet squats, and I think people forget how heavy you can go on those.
