Th e cantilever principle will be more than strong enough. No need for a post. If building regs required it, I would install it, and wait for the sign off and rip the post out. If it was my house that is.😜

I'm not a builder, can I ask how to change the existing U shape staircase (top 7 bottom 6, middle landing 1.9m) into a L shape single winder (keep the top 7)? There is a storage under the top 7, which I'd like to keep. Is it an easy job? thanks.

Is there a way to make a cantilevered landing after the (framing) fact? It's like the shown landing in your video except the joists have been finished and so the landing is fresh framing?
