Check out these super simple shoe rack shelves I built for my wife as a Valentine's day gift. Her shoe collection was getting cramped in her closet, so I built this simple shelf system using inexpensive, easy to get, off the shelf parts, to help her organize and make all of her shoes more accessible.

I'm a big crafter myself. This video is so helpful! Hopefully I can buy everything I need & ask someone at Lowes/Home Depot to cut the pieces. Will update when I'm done.

Great concept! And very practical. I hope to add this to my closet. For a bonus maybe you could add short shelves along the side walls, adjoining the shelves you created. From the tidbits you have shared (not only visual tidbits), it seems your wife enjoys collecting shoes. Extra shoe storage would make her happy. Happy wife - happy life, right?

nice, i was looking for super easy shelves, and i think i have found them. thanx. the others were talking about jeg something and acting like that was so easy. i guess to make hiding holes and to drill in sideways???ahhh that is not easy! and it requires special tools.so thankyou again! 1:57

I made this for our hall closet (9 feet long) and it is perfect. I bought pre-painted board and a white coated shelf board with the white rounded edge for only slightly highly cost. Had to pre drill all the screw holes for bracket holes into the shelf board but a quick way to avoid painting.

Sounds like the perfect use for it! The good thing about these pre-finished shelves is that A) you don't have to paint them, and B) they wipe up really easy if your shoes are dirty.

Suggestion: Fasten the brackets to the shelves first, then to the wall studs. Easier, but you do have to be sure they align with the studs when you fasten them to the shelves

You could also put some short little shelves on the sides for additional storage. She could also purge some of the shoes😳☺

+AMATEUR DECORATING LIKE A PRO That'd be a great way to adapt this. We actually ended up adding several shelves like this to the closet in our downstairs bedroom that I use as a work room. They turned it into a really usefull storage cabinet.

I feel those shelf frames would have been better with some wood glue between the joints and sat on some plates to spread the load being pushed onto the plastic floor. 😃 great vid, sub'bed and can't wait to see more. 2:24

I like this idea better then the crates/boxes because its easier to clean. with this I can fit both mine AND my fiances shoes in one closet........BUT I WOULD NEVER DO THAT😂.

She used to stack here shoes on the floor, so we thought this simple idea worked out so much better. She's already needing another shelf though. lol

@@pateccleston9741 I hear you! I love shoes' are shoes and caps/hats. I don't have enough room to keep all of my shoes in one place so have to store off-season pairs in storage boxes. My husband has long given up asking ''Do you think you have enough shoes yet?"
